Classical Classics That You Like

The pace is good on this one compared to how it normally is played.

mymnduccete 09-20-2011 02:08 AM

Probably my most favourite Bond theme - I do consider some of these classics too. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ys/approve.gif

This version brings tears to my eyes:

heinz_1966 09-20-2011 06:26 PM

That IS an emotional version. Great control. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/thumbsup.gif

I love Vivaldi

JesikaFclq 09-20-2011 07:13 PM

Well known I'm sure but I like this one for itself and for personal reasons.

Pavane

Though I can't think of a Tchaikovsky piece I don't like, so this is fluff.

leangarance 09-20-2011 08:35 PM

Love this one

You get this going on a good sound system where the cannons really boom and it's just amazing! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/thumbsup.gif

A fitting performance of a classic, a few days after.

russmodel 09-21-2011 08:35 AM

This is one of my favourite piano pieces ever.

And I love how this song incorporates it

lisualsethelp 09-21-2011 06:46 PM

I've had the Symphony of Hope cd for years and love this version.

VovTortki 09-21-2011 07:06 PM

I heard this at a hockey game (yes, a hockey game http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue2.gif) a long time ago and absolutely loved it.

I am lame I love this one.

SpyRemo 09-23-2011 08:01 AM

Love this piece as well. Most people will be familiar with the final movement.

vipdumpp 09-24-2011 10:52 AM

Didn't recognise this until around the 7th minute or so - that is well known of course but I think the preceding sections are as equally enjoyable if not more so.

Holst's Jupiter

This is the musical definition of epic.

^I just watched Fantasia this weekend!

Frankly this thread has made me binge on classical music, I really love it in the fall and winter...usually listen to shitty pop music I can work out to, or indie/metal/rock in the car. It's a nice change.

Dpkefsuf 09-27-2011 06:24 PM

One of the reasons I made this thread was to also learn about pieces I had not a clue about that were also enjoyable to listen to - and it's certainly done that for me.
