Joy Division, even though they didn't make much of an impact in their chart success, but influenced at least 3-4 bands on the poll list
who did they influence on that list?

Joy Division and The Cure were formed in the same year. 1976. Joy Division influenced a later brand of the Madchester music which was huge and still is in many ways. I'd say them and The Buzzcocks were pretty huge.

If I had to pick the best rock band ever, I mean straight up, balls to the wall proper rock - I'd go for Led Zep, Thin Lizzy or Deep Purple.

From that list I'd pick the beatles though

I've seen AC/DC live twice and no one throws it down live like Angus. The lil shit never stops.

But I voted Stones. No ones been as good for as long.

I voted other, as in "all of the above except for U2". Their music went sour when they kept going.

Thinkin' about it... It'd probably fit a little better under jazz?

did you ever see them live?

Their original guitarist made them rock

He was epic live. much more subdued on the albums

Of the list provided, I would naturally choose The Beatles. Two others would be The Red Hot Chili Peppers and maybe U2. I don't personally have a favourite overall. I like many artists. You could throw The Pixies into the list.
