Default Stages of Recording
Music knows no bounds. It cuts across the territories to reach millions of hearts. The process of making the music is an intricate one and demands a great deal of understanding about the sound. When a musical track is recorded, it goes through many stages before it finally comes out the way it is. The whole recording process of a musical track involves stages like composition, arrangement, recording, editing, mixing and mastering. Composing the music is the first stage of music recording, which is followed by arrangement. Composing the music involves forming the melody and lyrics. Arrangement is the part where the melodies are arranged and assigned to various instruments. It also involves drafting the melodies using musical connotations. The next step is recording, where the technicalities of making music come into picture. Recording is where the whole performance is put to tape, in simple terms. This stage is also known as cutting tracks. The recording stage is followed by editing and mixing. Editing consists of making changes to the recorded track by altering the timing, pace or pitch of an individual track. Mixing is done to synchronize the format used in the recording stage and the one that the end user is able to use. Last but perhaps the most crucial stage of cutting the track is the mastering. Mastering removes any kind of deficiencies that may be present in the recording process. It is done to maintain the consistency of the tracks which are grouped together. Mastering is indispensable if there are multiple songs in the album and if it is a commercial release. As the process is of high importance, it has led to online mastering service, where one can have access to competent mastering services at highly affordable rates.
