I'll agree with Hammerfall that The Black Mages are fantastic and if this was a top 6 i would have been able to fit them in but alas, not possible.
5. Visions of Atlantis Spoiler: Since Tarja left Nightwish 3 years ago, Visions of Atlantis have been a very nice band to fill the "Female Soprano Symphonic Metal" category in the music market today. Though they are virtually unheard of, any metal fan will find them inticing. Could only find AMV's of this song on youtube i'm afraid, so here's one my mate Rybanne made a year ago. 4. Stratovarius Spoiler: A very accomplished Finnish band that have been credited in first using keyboards in metal. These guys invented Symphonic Power Metal in the 80's, i'm still shocked today that most metalheads haven't even heard of them. 3. Avantasia Spoiler: Some of you may remember this as being my avy and YF name for a shortwhile. Essentially, Avantasia are a Melodic Power metal band that have consisted of different memebers from different bands everytime they release an album. The only real regular member of Avantasia is Tobias Sammet who is the lead singer of Edguy and the founder of Avantasia. The album this song's from "The Scarecrow" is still one of my favourite albums to date. 2. Nightwish Spoiler: I'm sure everyone knows of Nightwish, despite what i said earler i actually prefer them with their new singer Annette but they are technically a different band now they lack a Soprano singer. Nightwish were my favourite band from 2003 up until about 2007. Here's the classic: Nemo 1. Dream Theater Spoiler: Words to me cannot describe the awesomeness that is Dream Theater. All amazingly skilled musicians, been playing since the 80's and are still adding albums to their already impressive discography (something like 15). Definitely a band to check out. |
