Default Pro-Money/Capitalist songs
Was listening to "Wall Street Shuffle", by 10cc. GREAT beat, but the lyrics are anti-capitalist and satirical of money and wall street. I was wondering if anyone knew of any songs that were pro-Capitalist and Money but not pro-Hedonism (Get Money by 50 Cent would fall into this category).

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I'd like to see one of these dipstick social revolution bands turn over all their profits to fight world poverty!
You know the greatest irony? That is Che. He was a mass murdering communist maniac but has become popular with the ignorant how? Capitalism.

The people who did that were traitors to their own idealogy.

Smart traitors. But traitors none the less.

Maniac I wouldn't agree with in the slightest. Although, they do say there is a thin line between genious and insanity....

He was no doubt responsible for many deaths, but don't doubt for a second that Gueverra wasn't completely all there. He was an extremely astute man.

not really

do you see any of the protest bands giving up an abundance of their profits ??

they might donate time and a pittance of what they make but they still are in it for the money

Sure they do but make no mistake that they are also in it for the money more than to send a message.

One of my favorite songs was the live version of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young doing Four Dead in Ohio.

They made tons of money but what else did they do at the time to protest that made an impact?

I am not saying there are no protest bands. Just that they bark more than they bite.

I know the song, and the event it's about, I'm a big admirer of Neil Young.

Of course this was over 30 years ago as well, and I'm not sure what more CSNY could do, picket outside Nixons office?
One might argue that the song heaped public pressure on the state guard, and maybe could help prevent something like this again, but then - this was massive news anyway, regardless whether anyone wrote a song about it...

I'm not cynical enough to say CSNY wrote the song to make money, but at the same time, while it's a great song - it probably had little effect. Much like most music trying to protest such highly publicised single attrocities.
