I've got two suggestions.

1. Something laidback that could be played in a coffee shop. I'd call it "The latté Lounge"

2. Something a bit more uptempo based on Speed / Fast cars or Motorbikes.

- Mashup with typical folkmusic from each country
- Songs with "enviroment - theme"
- One song, but mashed in different ways by each DJ
- What's the next big event: Election day in USA, Olympia in China?

Yeah, the Bhangra has great beats. I keep wanting to do a Bhangra thing, but never seem to get around to it.

The one song mashed by everyone is interesting too. Also, that might be a good "contest" or "challenge" topic too. It would be cool to hear the results.

Yeah I prefer that idea of using it as a challenge. We'll select an acapella and setup a challenge asap.

I am really digging the idea of Bhangra for the compilation though

sounds all good... i already downloaded a load of bhangra samples.... there are not many instrumentals or acapellas though people so it may have to be a rap vs rap track with bhangra instruments as loops for most people or creating loops from the bits of bhangra tracks you can find.

last year at Beatbootique, you did a XXXMas comp for Xmas.

a few of us did tracks for it but it never materialized.

i'd like to see that this time round, especially as my track was disgustingly crude, whenever i played it, it seemed out of context on its own in and amongst the traditional xmas songs.

BTW, when will the Bhangra Bootay be released?

After the success of Bhangra Bootay how about we cover other ethnical groups?

We could do:-

Kebab Bootay - Greek
Bonjour Boots - French
Kim Wong Pete Tong - Chinese

The list is endless!!
