Default Angels and Airwaves
Well their debut CD entitled We Dont Need to Whisper drops on Tuesday, and who plans on buying it? Personally i was a massive blink fan for about 4 or so years of my life...and as the time has passed i would like to think that my musical tastes have changed just slightly, but after hearin the majority of the album over the past few days i am sincerely impressed with what Tom Delonge has accomplished here. He could've made another blink carbon copy, but he actually set out to do something completely different (much like Boxcar Racer), and succeeds in my opinion. So i will definitely be goin out on Tuesday to pick this up, and also pick up Jack whites new album. Anyways who ill be pickin up WDNTS, who's with me?

While I might go and buy not sure, yet. THey are impressive. I wanted to go to Toronto and see them and Taking Back Sunday, but that's a little far for me... I might pick up Louder Now and We Dont Need to Whisper.

Quinn i dissagree with you

personally i am old school blink, since Dude Ranch was released. But the way their music progressed and changed in sound, through Take off... , and the self titled, i dont think that We Don't Need To Whisper would of been that different to the next Blink album.

Tom's other problem with this album is that he made a statement saying this album will be the best of the last 20 or 25 years (it was one of the two). Considering the above point i feel that doing this he has opened himself up for negative feedback.

However all that aside i do actually like the tracks i have heard, such as it hurts, the adventure and Valkyrie Missile. Fair play to Tom for doing this, must be hard after years with Mark and Travis, even in side projects!

Yeah i can definitely see where you're comin from Carnage...I am an old school fan myself (from the dude ranch era as well), and after listenin to a few more tracks from AAA as well as listenin to some songs off blink's last album i guess it wouldnt be too far fetched to assume that could've been what the next blink album could've been like. I guess listenin to AAA just gave me a different "vibe" or something than anything blink could've done. I dont know if that makes any sense, but even though they (blink) did change their sound drastically on their last album, i still felt the same way as i did listenin to every other blink album, and with AAA i got a different feeling from it, and definitely look forward to hopefully great success from this band, as well as Mark and travis's new group Plus-44.

I really enjoy this album.
I've kinda had it for weeks..

Its the full studio album.. If the album was like 9.99 or something I'd buy it.. but my local cd store marks up rediculously, so it'd be like 22.99 min. +tax.

I really enjoy it though, it sounds more like their recent outing than any of the blink albums, but it is really decent.

If I were to rate it out of 5, I'd give it a 4. Tom even throws in a couple solo licks, which is impressive. Perhaps it isnt him playing it though, because there is a new guitarist. Which is why the overall sound is a little different, because it's not Tom playing all of the guitarwork.

I'll be honest I miss Mark Hopus, because I personally think his voice is greater than Tom's, but still its a very good album, and I'd definitely advize to pick it up. It's really good.

I've always been a fan of Blink-182. Despite HATING their self-titled album, I really liked the others. The Mark Tom And Travis Show (live album) is the best though. I just like their twisted sense of humor and how they incorporate it in songs (Family Reunion, Happy Holidays, The Country Song, I Know A Guy, Mother's Day, Fuck A Dog, When You Fucked Grandpa)

But I don't think it'll be the same without Mark and Travis.

But just for this topic, I'll take a listen and download a few songs.

I have had an advance copy of the album for acouple months now it is really a good album but in the end I have found myself listening to Mark Hoppus and Travis Barkers new band "Plus 44" more than "AVA".

I'm a big Blink fan, but i do like the more mature sound that Angels and Airwaves are going for. I'm definately getting this one.

I just finished listenin to the entire album and i have to say it was actually a very good album all around. Only thing that could've made it better was that too many songs have exceedingly long intros, but other than that Tom delivered the goods, and i am looking forward to their next effort as well.
Overall i would give it ***/****.
