Default Audioslave News
AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello has told MTV.com that the band have completed between 20 and 25 songs for the follow-up to their acclaimed 2002 self-titled debut (which has sold over 2 million copies).

"The songs are heading in some places where none of the four of us have ever gone in our careers before," Morello said. "When we listen back to the daily tapes, we're surprised at the music that's jumping off of them. It's so inspiring to go down to rehearsal every day.

"There are so many songs now that depending on the choices we make, they could be totally different records," he added. "We could make it 'Back in Black',or we could make it 'The Joshua Tree'. But it's really exciting, and I'm looking forward to recording it and letting people in on it."

With regards to when the as-yet-untitled CD might come out, Morello said, "It will come out when it's right and when it's great and when we're through with it. We don't like to put an artificial time on it." it sounds good to me. can't wait for it to come out

I hate to say it, but I'm not a huge Audioslave fan. I was/still am a huge Rage fan, but I don't know. It just doesn't seem right without Zack in the band. But, don't get me wrong, Cornell isn't a bad singer. His work with Soundgarden was awesome. I don't know, I just wasn't a big fan of Audioslave's first CD. Hopefully this CD will change my mind.

I'm with Hammer, even though I never listened to whole album and my opinion is just based on the singles I heard on the radio: I am the Highway, Like a Stone, Cochise and some other one) Tom Morello just doesn't have the same edge on guitar like he did on Rage. Plus Tom's playing style doesn't seem to mingle with Cornell's voice.

i loved Soundgarden and I love AudioSlave. I loved Rage too but if you listen to Audioslave thinking you're going to hear Rage then you're deffinatly not listening to the right cd. Chris Cornell is one of the best vocalist of all time IMO and i really dig about anything he would do.

Audioslaves first album was absolutely fantastic and this is one of the albums i have been and still will be waiting for. Some of the songs on "Audioslave" were amazing... Cochise, Show Me How To Live, Set It Off, Like A Stone.... brilliant

Yeah, like said above, Audioslave's first album was pretty damn good. But I think they should stay away from the slow stuff, I don't like it at all. Plus they shouldn't release solo-less versions of their songs, because on the radio stations around here thats all the play and it really drains the songs, and makes them suck so bad.

I'm not mad about Audioslave, it just doesn't seem right for some reason without Zack as Hammer said, I know Audioslave have a different sound and everything but Rage was/still is unique in its own way....
