So who do you think it is there is so many bands that have came out and so many of them sound like identical but in that last 5 years there is one that stands out to me and that is Seether, this band is fucking amazing I think they got the old 90's alternative with a little new age mix to them.

Hm...5 years. So, since 2001, I think the best new band would have to be Velvet Revolver.
While not exactly "new" in a sense that it's basically Guns N' Roses without Axl, I still think they can be classified in this topic. Their 2004 album contraband was awesome, with hits like Fall To Pieces, Slither, and Set Me Free. I can't wait for the follow-up album! |

Chevelle, Nickelback, System of a Down, Whites Stripes, and Muse actually shouldn't be included in this, as their first albums were released in the 90s.
It's so hard to pick a best band over the last five years, because often times that means the band has only released an album or two. My favorite is probably Audioslave, even though he's on the decline, I still love Cornell's voice. Shinedown probably would be #1, but I really didn't like their first album as a whole, just a few good tracks on it. Their second CD was tons better, IMO. Honorable mentions to: Dredg, Eagles of Death Metal, Hurt, Jet, Mars Volta, Raconteurs, Shinedown, and Stone Sour. |
