A band shouldn't have to change it's name because a member dies. There's no shame in keeping the same name, after all they did work to establish that name as well -- It wasn't just Dave.

As for other matters, I could care less about Drowning Pool in general.

Peace.

Or it's what the band wants to do 'cause they are pretty sure they have no chance to be big again if they don't keep that familiar name...

damn today is dead boring, I'm blahshitting about a band that sounds like ass...

I'm gonna try and keep myself off this topic now and try some sleep, and wake up to an eventful day.

Bands change singers all the time, and still keep the band name intact.

It wasn't just a one person band.

Having said that, I would like to finish off with a quote;

Oh, and A Perfect Circle really, really rock!

I don't know about that, and I wouldn't say their sacks of shit because they want to move on. Granted I'm very sad that Dave died but why does the band need to disband because of it? Early in their careers the rolling stones lost a major member of the group and they continued and did quite well. I don't think its just about money, the band has decided they want to continue so I wish them well and hopefully they'll be able to move on.

Replacing band members due to them passing away isn't right in my eyes. It shows no respect toward Dave Williams.

Fucking good for Rob Zombie- he's busy doing movies/film now anyway, he's only been doing music because people still want it- his hearts not in that anymore- obvious by the quality of zombie audio sinking.

I think the band is retarded for releasing a CD under the name "Drowning Pool" still. I mean, they don't have a real unique sound in their music department, the only jusftification for their seperation was Dave on vocals (which I didn't care for)

Trying to replace a singer while maintaining the band that same band name is rediculous. They have NO respect, except respect for the cash.

As if I already didn't dislike Drowning Pool enough with Dave, now they proved what sacks of shit they are.

Default New Drowing Pool Album
In 2002, Drowing Pool's lead singer, Dave Williams died and I thought that Drowing Pool would just be done with but no, they have a new lead singer Jason Jones. They have a new albumn, "DESENSITIZED". It's due out April 20th.

Actually I think dave was really good and I don't know if they were in a fading fizz, their last cd was doing pretty well. Time will tell if they can regain their spark without him though. As you said it's really hard to replace the lead locals of a group.

I don't think this will ever live up to Dave "The Stage" Williams, I disagree with those who say it is disrespect to Dave, after all Metallica first bass player died when the tour bus crashed, butthey still continued and look what they have done since.........

I didn't know. I have been on a Perfect Circle binge lately, that's all.

Glad you like them though. Top work.

They can move on as what they still are, but they should change the name though. They lost their singer, they didn't lose Bobby nobody on bass who could be replaced in a split second- they lost the voice that when you hear it on the radio you know it's drowning pool. Not that I think Dave's gonna be hard to replace- but he'd be the hardest member to replace. You just don't replace lead singers man- especially if they die.

The stones lost a member, but did the Stones lose their voice Jagger? No! They were actually a fresh thing to music though too- it's like they were forced to move on- even if they did lose Jagger- but they would fall quickly if that did happen... Drowning Pool was another 'metal band.' Seriously they won't be missed. I haven't heard anyone I know or kind of know that likes Drowning Pool go "oh I miss Dave, I wish Drowning Pool was still around." He died in their fading fizz, I don't think if Dave was around still they'd make another successful album.

and I think I just have a thing for saying "Sacks of shit" on this message board... /:

Well I don't know how good this new lead is but I do know he won't measure up to Dave's intensity. I'll probably pick this up anyway. Should be intresting to see how big a difference the band is without Dave.

A Perfect Cirlce is an excellent band, but you're getting a little off topic lol j/p

Can someone please inform me about why Drowning Pool actually thought Zombie would lead for them?

Yeah, unless they thought that Dave would have wanted them to continue with the band.

They were once considering Rob Zombie for their lead singer, but I guess he didn't want to do it or something.
It'll be interesting to see how this album compares to their last, since they have a different lead singer now.

I forgot to mention, this is from DrowingPool.com. You can also listen to part of their single "Step Up". I searched for it on CDnow.com and they didn't have it listed yet.
