Default Question For Guitarists
So here is what I wanna know,

I have had this electrict guitar for the longest and yeah I haven't used it much. But I have alway wanted to make the rock music sound with it. I don't have a whammy bar on this either. From what I hear you need a distortion pedal but I am not really sure. Help me boss of bosses!? (wait thats not right) But yeah hopefully someone can help me.

The amp I have barely has anything, only bass treble and volume. So i'd have to get a whole 'nother amp for it?

Naw man, get a Boss Distortion Pedal. It's all you need and its relatively cheap.
If you use Ebay, I'll help you out dog.

This here is the Boss MetalZone, marvelled as perhaps the best distortion pedal ever released. And you can get it for like 50 bucks. It will make any amp sound pretty good. Only thing is, you will need two connection chords, which will set you back maybe 10 bux.

What kind of amp are you using. If you want a good 10/15 watt amp, i'd go with a Kustom. It was my first amp, and I really wish I didn't give it away.

Damn,if I'd come here a couple of weeks earlier ,I'd suggest you to buy the "2007 Guitar Buyers' Guide" from the makers of Guitar World magazine ,you can seek everything from guitars-acoustic guitars-basses to amps, accessories and ....effects ,prices included!

And speaking of distortion devices,if you'd get a chance to visit every music store-pawn shop- whatever place who can sell electric guitars & gear ,try anything and let your ear decide.Hundreds of distortion devices (and there's lots of out-of-production gear too) are existing today so you'll make a choice of the sound you'll want to play....you'll have to recognize what is a "fuzz",an "overdrive",a "distortion" and some heavier-sounding devices with
the "metal" word on it.

Finally ,if I could recommend something to you, there's the Boss Metal Zone pedal (with great EQ for versatility) or the Boss Mega Distortion pedal,or the Drive Zone OD-20 dual pedal by Boss with COSM technology that can emulate every existing kind of distortion pedals.
