Anyway, as far as todays popular rock scene goes (when I find the fucker who labeled it as a form of metal, I'll savagely murder him), better known as Nu-Metal, I don't consider it a form of music. Yeah some of the bands in Viper's list are excellent (with a few notable exceptions of course). I'd add Kalmah, Lacuna Coil, Dark tranquility and Rhapsody too. I'm more into prog, though. i.e Dream Theater and Symphony X. I also like different forms of 80s rock and old punk. [ March 31, 2005, 09:13 PM: Message edited by: Spicolli Driver ] |

Listening to other albums, should have been enough to tell you just how bad St. Anger was...because it wasn't Metallica.
Guitar solos were nowhere to be found Lars's snare drums sound like they were out of tune Hetfield sang as bad as he did on Kill 'em All...like a screaming 5 year old. Rob's bass line stood out too much to a point where they nearly came over Hammet and Hetfields guitar. And most importantly....they all sounded disorganized and out of tune. If you want to hear a damn good Metallica album listen to Master of Puppets. [ March 25, 2005, 11:18 AM: Message edited by: The Viper 4 Life ] |

I was just wondering what kind of music most of you listen to?
I'm a major Metal buff myself, I know my shit when it comes to Metal. I have people come to me just to get answeres about "is this band better than this one? and why?" But I don't mean the shit you hear on the radio (some of it though), more along the lines of un popular bands. I like some modern day Rock too. Here's a list of some of my favs: Iced Earth Dimmu Borgir Children of Bodom Nightwish Symphony X Evergrey Nocturnal Rites Stratovarius Killswitch Engage Trivium Slipknot In Flames Mudvayne Lamb of God Three Days Grace Slayer Iron Maiden Seether Breaking Benjamin Shadows Fall Shinedown Disturbed Winter Solstice So how about you guys? |

I listen to mainly "hard as nails" hard house music!!
I know most of you guys have never heard a HH track but the scene is getting pretty big in NYC (my mate moved there and he says it is slow but its getting better). If you guys wanna hear some then download some of these tracks altho most of them aint that hard. BK - Revolution BK - Please F**k Me Paul Glazby - F**kin Hostile Captain Tinrib - Devils Play Thing Casper - Generation Casper - Just Like Dynamite You will need a P2P proggie called Soulseek from www.slsknet.org. There is alot of underground & commercial hip hop and metal on there too. |

I dunno, I listen to a variety of stuff, but it all falls in rock and metal categories.
Examples: Pink Floyd, Jimmi Hendrix, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pantera, Queensryche, Guns n Roses, Ozzy, ACDC, Motley Crue, Van Halen, NIN, Tool, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, Rush, Offspring, Green Day, A Perfect Circle, Opeth, Evergrey, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Godsmack, Shinedown, Disturbed, White Stripes, Jet, Silvertide, Damage Plan, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Black Label Society I could just keep listing, but what's the use in that? Usually depends on my mood and where I am to determine what I'm listening to. |
