There's a big difference between having limited music knowledge and just avoiding other types of music. I know everything about G&R, but they're not my favourites...

Most of the bands that RiG listens to are instrumentally gifted, wether you like metal or not is not really relevant.
You need more than just limited music knowledge to appreciate that kind of music.

Also FYI, I wouldn't say his music knowledge is expansive just because he listens to the metal bands he does. Peace. That's odd. I know tons of hardcore metal fans who insanely focus on instrumental talent, especially those guys from the Underground CD stores. I've only seen very few of that kind you're talking about, and surprise surprise, they're all Nu-metal fans.

I've got a similar taste in metal but still listen to just about any other genre. Owned.

SUM 41 is the only one I'm looking foreward to, if anything. But I don't know what else is coming out this year, so maybe there's other good ones coming out too that I'll hear about later. I'd really like to see Green Day release a new album sometime soon, they haven't had a new CD since like 2000, or 2001, I'm going to check into that, now that I think about it.
