Arguably in the same league as bands like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath in terms of the overall impact on metal, Venom had a clear influence on early death/thrash/black metal. One of the first bands to use strong satanic themes and imagery, you’d be hard pressed to find any extreme metal band that hasn’t covered at least one of Venom’s songs in their career.


So what do you think of them? Overrated? Underrated? Right where they belong?
