Default Your First Meditation Experience?
acDo you remember what you're very first Meditation experience was? ac acAre you willing to share it with us? Was it pleasant, or unsettleing? acI'll tell you mine if you tell me yours...lol. acMine was actually a little wierd, but not unpleasant. acDo you still meditate on a regular basis? I admit I have lapsed a bit. ac acRight now I have to go get ready for a wedding, but I'll be back......

well mine was very unpleasant.
I kept seeing evil faces. preventing me from going forward.
I believe on my fourth meditation session I came prepared. I came with a long silver sword (of course imagined) and I showed them who was boss. and since then no scary faces or ugly bodies.

I believe it was a cleansing period. all the ugly surfacing and being washed out.

Now I look forward to my sunny skies, ocean view or walks in the forest with no fears in my heart because all looks just like Heaven to me

Ok,...my "first" was a mess. I am laughing now. It is like the learning to "RUN before you WALK" concept, but here is what happened. Trying to analyze this whole thing, I read book after book after book all of them focused on meeting your guide. The one I chose was one where you had to envision, to put it iefly, a forest, canoe, lake, etc and have your guide meet and introduce themself to you. So I went into my bedroom, demanding total quiet from everyone in the house. When I couldn't get this scene to "play out" after about 45 mins, I was more stressed out than you could imagine. Not once, did I concentrate on my eathing, my thoughts---just the obssession with meeting my guides.Happy to report, I do meditate on a daily basis, at least once. I do use it correctly for relaxation a mind clearing. Most of all, I have fun with it (unlike in the beginning) where I had to accomplish something. Well,..that's my embarassing 1st experience.IMG src="http:www.spiritualblessing.orgForumsrichedits mileysOthershame.gif" border=0

Seriously though, protection is important, I always protect myself before any meditation. Even if only symbolic, it does the trick.

ac acOk, now for my first experience. It was both wonderful, and hillarious. ac acI had joined a weekly meditation group to see what the big deal was. acThe room had been cleansed with sage, and smelled wonderful. acThe leader guided us along a path, past a meadow, etc., the usual scenario. acThen we came to a garden. I had a tree in the centre, surrounded by a aclow stone wall. There wewe flowers, paths, and to my right a narrow gurgling acstream, backed by a high stone wall; nice soothing surroundings. acThen I looked over to the left, where there was an open grassy area. acIn the centre of this area was a sort of cloud of energy. acIt consisted of flashings of light, all different colours, very beautiful. acI walked into the centre of it without hesitation. acAs we were told to ask any being that we found if they were of the 'Light', acI promptly did so. To my intense surprise it said 'I AM the Light'. acWell, I was so shocked, all I could get out of my mouth was Holy S***! acLol. It didn't seem to mind, and I stayed there untill we were called back acto this reality by the moderator. I didn't want to come back. I was in acsuch a warm and loving invironment, it almost felt like an emace. acI have gone back there many times since, and have always felt the same acfeelings of overpowering love. ac acOf course everyone had a great laugh at the time, but I am still surprised acthat this happened during my first attempt at meditation. ac ac

I used to meditate in bed when i couldnt sleep. did the trick everytime. I used to suffer from insomia, not anymore.

I meditate now and again, not easy with a teenager and a two year old. We sometimes meditate at my Tai Chi class. We do the inner smile meditation. Where you ing your awareness to each part of your body bit by bit surround it with light and then smile at it. Its a nice meditation. I have some Cds that i sometimes use or i may sit opposite the tree in my garden if i can hide for ten imnutes without my kids finding me.

I don't remember mine either. I just know how to concentrate on one thing, or on nothing like a blank wall.

My first meditation was very "mellow"... It was a very plesant "surprise".. it was more of an outer body experience. I was flying and was surrounded by my spirit guides.. (native americans) music, fire, dancing... it was Awesome.
I still experience mostly the same, but I did have a very unpleasant experience when there was evil present. For the most part my experiences are great... I have a crystal "grid" that was made for me and I lay with it when I meditate... it ALWAYS gets my chakra's flowing freely, and rejuverates my energy.
