I love watching the show crossing over with John Edwards. I was just wondering if anyone here has spirits come to them and try to communicate to a loved one thru you. If so how does it happen for you? Will you just be sitting in a resteraunt or some place and it randomly happens? Do you do anything about it or do you just ignore it? Just wondering.

Yes, this happened to me just recently on another board. The spirit was pressuring me to get the message to the right person.

Sometimes it happens in public too, but this is rare because when I'm in public, I'm often busy doing something, so my "open" sign is turned off. But if I relax and my mind wanders, it becomes a blank page for a spirit visit.

I've read that approaching random people to insert messages into their lives is inappropriate, which is why I reserve most messages for friends and family of my own instead of strangers.

This is a particularly hard rule to follow with a persistent spirit that has good news rather than bad, or one of my hunches that someone will die by a certain method (thus I want to say, "Don't do that!" -- but aren't we just invading their privacy? A lot of people don't want to know when they'll die.)

When does sharing a message become an invasion of privacy? And when is it not an invasion, but a welcome sign? These are the ethical questions I run into with 'random' spirits.

For me, most messages come at home when my "open" sign is on. I do listen, and if the spirit is able to show me the connecting person (hopefully someone I know), I consider sharing the message in the future. So far, I've only shared specific messages with people I know.

But I have a feeling that since the gifts are becoming so much stronger, more of my random 'hints,' 'clues,' and unasked observations to strangers will be popping out of my mouth.

My experiances with spirits is what set me on this course For years though I think I was trying to learn "backwards" I have heard you do not have to be a medium to be psychic BUT you do have to be psychic to be a medium.

You see it was easy to explain my intuition away, coincident, or How funny is that! But when it came to connecting to spirits well That i couldnt explain away!

At first I jumped into trying to control my spirit connection experiances. But that is really difficult for me to do, they are very random experiances. So I decided focus on your intuition and when the time is right the rest will follow!

I am still focusing on my Intuition, But when spirit does come in It has happened in many places. From Dreams, Ship yards, to my kitchen, and places in between lol.

The only time I have gotten messages were for my family, or a wonderful surprise visit in a reading So I knew who they were for and never had a problem telling the messages.

But If It did happen and I received a message say in a store and I felt it was directed to a specific person, I may start a conversation with the person, and feel them out to see if they were open. If not. I would not want to cause someone any pain. I know that if spirit wants to get a message across They will! One way of another

Thanks for sharing guys! I've always wondered about it. This kind of stuff fascinates me. I had a friend that I used to work with that had this gift also. My mom came thru once thru him...it was really awesome. His cousin was one of my friends from high school. She died in a car accident and he knew it before anyone in their family knew cause of his gift. I think if it were me I would be freaked out if I had your guy's gift. lol

lol sooo very true! My family always asks me if I ever feel afraid with working with animals cause they might bite me or kill me. I always tell them no cause if they bite me they have a reason....when people snap at ya sometimes they don't always have a reason. They just do it for their own pleasure.

What were you thinking!!! as a cleaned my wound I stated Hun.. What can I say? I wasnt thinking ;x It wasnt the Pups fault it was mine for using my leg as a wall between 2 pups who were in an odd situation! The pup wasnt going for me... I just shoved my leg in the way! My poor Suzanne has never forgiven herself for Moms stupidity! Till this day when she comes to Mom her ears are always down ;(

My connections started as a young girl with family members Grandparents Aunts, and uncles. At first the messages were just for me. Then I went through a stage where I conformed to "Its my imagination" Until I got married and moved out

Hubbys grandmother started to come to me all the time, we bought her home, and I always felt her on a daily basis My Sunday Sauce is the proof lol. Hubbys family Swears its the only sauce that smells and taste just like hers! They walk in my home and the first words I hear Is OMG its smells like grandma's! (highest compliment in there family lol)

My Uncle came to me. With a message for my family. He told me something that no one in my family would belive, until it happened 2 weeks later. It was his way of saying, He loves them and watches over us, and that when it is our time, they wont be alone!

I truly belive that we never pass alone, that our loved ones, guides, angles come to us to help us in our transition, especially if we are ill, and we go in and out of diffrent levels of conscious awareness.

I think even though I had experiances growing up, once I had gotten married, I was able to open up very naturally. I didnt have anyone telling me hush! lol. Hubby was my witness to many experiances Hubby didnt just yes me to death or brush my experiances under the rug, he would actually listen and take action on them When people said How did you know? He said "My wife" Even though he isnt into any of this he does belive. That alone allowed me to step out of the box and further my education, reasurch and try and tap into those experiances.

So remember Sometimes you just need that "1" experiance and when you least expect it it will grow!

Thanks for the encouragement Smiles, I think what might be holding me back, a while ago, ( I generally get my messages through dreams) I had 3 dreams concerning someone at work, where 1 pet passed over ( I assumed this because in the dreams she was very upset, & the other pet was ok.

Knowing these pets were her babies, as she's alone with no partner, I knew what they meant to her, & I asked someone with far more experience than me, should I tell. It was more that if she had them to the vets early, they might have been ok.

But I was told , definately not, it wasn't my place to alter things, as it turned out one pet did pass over, but it was a situation that nothing could have saved it, & the other pet was ok.

The person who told me not to say anything pointed out, that wasn't it better she only had a couple of weeks of grief, than 3 months of grief & anxiety if I had said anything.

Smiles, what on earth do you do ( you personally) if Spirit tells you any bad news about someone you know. I just could'nt do it.

In your case I do feel the message was ment for you, it may have been preparing you to deal with your freind.

I feel GOD doesnt give me what I cant handle. The only death I knew was comeing was My grandmother, She actually came to me in a dream 2 days prior to tell me she was going to be OK, She would always be with me, but I wont be able to see her anymore, she had to go away, but she will always be there. I was 8 years old. She passed in her sleep the 2nd night after that.

When I woke up crying and told my parents Grandma was going away, my dad went nuts screaming and yelling how can I say such a thing! My mom trying to tell him and me it was just a scary dream.

When My grandmother transitioned, was when the relationship between my father and I became very very distant. We were like vinegar and water for over 20 years.

I have had intuitive feelings of our pets passing, as a mother I did my best to prepare my children gently explaining we never know what will happen without stateing what I felt.

I have also been faced in a situation where I knew something major was going on Or a possible warning needed to be in place. But I was not sure of what it was.

My Husbands grandmother was constantly in our home, but I never used to feel her outside. One day I was driveing from work to go pick up my kids. I looked at my watch and took a deep breath of OK im good Im not late

The radio was off, and as soon as i went in that happy, relaxed mode it happened. I heard his grandmother crying as if she was in a diffrent room But wanted me to hear her! I slowed down and checked my mirrors to see if there were any cars near me on the parkway thinking OMG is it in another car? There wasnt a car in site.I knew I was ment to hear this. She was crying so I knew this wasnt good. I became panicked and called Hubby on the nextel radio as I was driveing. "Hi Hun, this is just an I love you call are you OK?" He heard my voice and called the phone and kept asking me what was wrong. I said I dont know! Your grandmother is crying, and I dont know why.

Well I ended up panicing my husband. He pulled over grabbed his chest and drove home. (I dont know maybe thats what she wanted?)

After we started to call everyone in the family to make sure they were ok, we found out his sister and 2 of his cousins had a bad dream of her within the past 2 nights where she needed help.

We also found out that there were 5 major things going on with family members.

I dont know if she was trying to warn me for hubby's sake, or if she was just trying to let the family know she was hurting with everything that was going on.

When I do readings for others, I have yet to see death. Even when the death card appears. I have never sensed it as an actual death.

If I was to see the death I would have to measure the situation, I dont feel I would confront the person, but do my best to support them. There are to many varibles on what can happen in life.

In your case with your freinds pet, it was a situation that nothing could have been done. But in return it may have prepared you to be strong for them. Check in with them a bit more, allow them to feel connected in other ways. ext:

You know Smiles, I wished I'd met you 3 yrs ago, because when this happened, I was really fed up, & what you said now makes so much sense to me, in that the message was probably meant for me to support her when it happened, I didn't support her enough at the time of the demise of her pet, because I felt so bad about it.

If others I spoke to regarding this had said to me what you did , I would have been a lot better, now I know.

At the time I was quite angry with Spirit, I thought how useless giving us information when we couldn't do anything, what the hell was the point.

Now I understand, ----be prepared to give support to the person,--- now I get it , I really need to apologise to Spirit. Thank you Smiles

tarni, im no pro but I firmly belive spirit acts out of love When we receive messages it is for us to act out of the same love Only once did I think That I had an evil or bad spirit who was trying to scare the heck out of me ( They did!) It wasnt until over 25 years later that I relized It wasnt evil!

They were acting out of love. They wanted me to call someone for help, becouse I was in actual danger. They had smoke alarms turning on and off, light bulbs blew up, shades were going. It was stuff you would see in a movie I yelled at it that it was lost and it didnt belong here to leave!

I was so scared I called my brother he laughed at me and hung up, so I called my Boyfreind now husband As soon as I got off the phone with him, my phone rang. It was an Ex boyfriend Telling me he was comeing over to hurt me. I was already scared of what was going on I just hung up on him.

My Husband was there in less then 2 min, not knowing about the ex call, but as hubby got out of his car he saw the ex speed past my house punching his steering wheel.

I was so freaked out at what was going on. It never dawned on me until 25 years later. It wasnt a lost soul trying to scare me, it was a spirit of love who was trying to protect me They wanted me to get help
Im thankful to say that was the only time I have ever experienced something that scared me. In reality it was to help me

It took me 25 years later to appoligise becouse i was cursing (really not nice words lol) at them and screaming at them to get out! I think they forgive me hay after all we are only human! They love us anyway

I was alone in the house, it started where the smoke alarm at the bottom of the stairs went off, I said OK battery , grabbed a chair and as soon as my finger was an inch away it shut of and at the same exact time the upstairs went off so I said huh how weird and laughed went upstairs and the same thing happened again! 3 times I climbed the chairs. Thats when I said OK this isnt right. My bedroom shade looked like it was blowing up in the air with a closed window, and then my make up mirror was off. 3 out of the 4 bulbs blew and shattered. The electrical switch was off on that wall. all with in a few min time. I called my brother told him "somethings in the house, im scared he didnt belive me and laughed like I was nuts. I was so scared I was thinking Ok am I nuts? It was the make up Mirror that made me run to the phone and call for help. The smoke alarms I could have expalined away battieris get changed at the same time so they act weird at the same time. The shade I new wasnt normal, we never get a draft there its the wrong side of the house, but hay you never know. BUT the make up mirror, where the switch was of on the wall and the mirror? .

Im just thankful my husband didnt think I was crazy. We werent dateing long, he came to my rescue and married me anyway! lol till this day he says he never saw my face so white as it was that day. When he got there I was shakeing, and questioning my own sanity.

Im sure someone would be able to scientificly explain it all, but to all happen within a few minutes, and then the ex calling and showing up? Even if it was all coinsidence (very doubtful) Im am sooo thankful!

wow! Thats crazy! I think I would have gotten ticked off if I climbed the chair three times for the alarms lol. Then I would have started freaking out with everything else. lol I'm glad it happened since it kept u safe! Have you had anything like that happen again?

You'll find a lot of us are mediums here. I know how to set boundaries, as does John. You simply treat them as people. They are still people. They simply don't have a body to keep them limited anymore. I ask that they give me to whom they would like to pass the message to. I may not even know of the person (yet) but I take a note of it. I ask them to return when that person calls, meets me etc. You control spirit. Not the other way around. We have the body and therefore are here to help the living beings of our earth.

It has happened to me more times that I can recall. The one time I was still very new at my abilities and I was in a crowed Home Depot. The energy was so strong I literally held onto my husband's back and closed my eyes trying to deal with it (yes before I learned to ground and shield). I was finally in the check out and came out of behind his back to look at a man standing in line in front of us. I could see 2 children about 8 and 6 dancing around his legs, but in my mind. One was a girl and the older a boy.

Again.. NEWBIE in ability I asked him if he had lost any children in a car accident. (you dont do this unless ASKED.. learned the hard way here). He went stark white and said.. "yes.. my son and daughter... why?" Well I said "I see them dancing around your legs, they really love going shopping with you." The cashier was now staring at me too.

The man ran out of the store, glancing at me as if I was a monster and the cashier gave me a very odd look.

Smiles4U - They will do anything they can to protect us. They knew if they scared you enough you would either leave (missing your ex) or you would call someone to come be with you. I hope you thanked them By the way.. who is the older woman? She says I'm the one who did it. Feels like grandmother or older family friend who passed. Jamers I have a lot pf spirit connections after that BUT None to that extreme! Thanks Laura! I have a lot of people who passed in my life. My Parents are still here. But All my grandparents have transitioned. Aunts, Uncles Very close freinds to our family. When they come to visit me it is so much easier to know who they are. . They have given me message for for members of my family where there was no way I could have known things.

I used to sense my Grandmother around all the time after she passed. She would make rocking chair rock in my bedroom. sit on my bed. Sis blamed me one night for makeing the chair rock she wasnt happy when she turned on the light and I was in bed saying its not me its Grandma!

I Guess I stoped feeling her when I was about 17 or 18. Then the last time I felt her was in the church when I was married. I wouldnt be suprised if it was her Even though she passed when I was only 8 years old. (I was 2nd to the youngest out of 27 grandchildren), we had a very special connection. sHe came to me 2 days before she passed to tell me she was going away. Im an old lady now lol and I still wear the cross she gave me 6 months before she passed. My mother didnt want to tell anyone in the family she gave me a 10k gold cross becouse times were hard for her, and all the other grandchildren had gotten much less expensive gifts like key changes, or costume jewlery I remember the the day she gave it to me, what she was wearing, the chair we were on when she put me on her lap. I didnt understand the feeling then but I felt like it was truly a sacred momnet. I also remember my mom looking on as if this was all very nice... But a bit Odd lol.

That's awesome that you knew your grandma was still around and you can communicate with your loved ones. I would give anything if I could communicate with my mom. At least just to know that she isn't disappointed in me or anything. Going back to the walking in a room and things turn off.....does that ever annoy you? Like if you want to talk to your husband and you can't unless you talk from the other room? lol
