Thank you Skye XOXOX

I charge for my time... not my gifts.

In defense of ANY business, would you work for free?

I do charity events all the time, but yes, this is my profession.....
I also do energy exchanges.. I read for someone and in turn, they give me a reading or a class or a bag of incense.. etc.

Therapists get paid to counsel, why is my job any different?

I bring peace and understanding to people every day in my work and I love it.

Again Skye.. thank you

I totally agree with you Laura! I don't see why some are seeing this as an issue, as you say others charge for their time, so why are you any different! You are helping as any Doctors, counsellors etc help others.

Also you have helped sooo many people without asking for anything in return! me included!! How do they expect you live and survive without the income? A singer uses their talents to live, so why is thie any different?!

About charging for services: money is energy and there needs to be a flow of energy between the people involved in some form. It is a universal law.. I wonder if the person who says that they can't pay for the services they are seeking, just went to the store to buy cigarettes or lotto tickets or kept their appointment at the manicurists? Did they go to the movies or out to dinner after their reading?
Lets be honest here.
I believe that life is the gift, and fortunately each of us has been blessed with this gift. What we do with this gift (our life) is our choice and journey and cannot be judged by anyone. Each of us has certain talents that we are meant to explore, develop and if we are fortunate enough, make a living at. These talents I believe can always help others in some way, which is wonderful for everyone involved. I would never assume to tell someone what the "appropriate" fee for their services should be. If I feel their fee is out of my price range, I look for my alternatives, that's all.
many blessings,
Diane

Hi Friends,

I seem to have ignited a fire storm. That was not my intent. Please forgive me if I offended anyone or seemed to be casting aspersions. Believe me, that was not me intent.

Thanks for the advice,
Aries

Aries,

I am sorry if these posts came out more aggressive than they may have been inteneded, being new I know it might have come off as a bit hurtful to you, so please dont retreat, you were naturally curious, and everyone is passionate about certain subjects, and I'm sure they, as well as I, all meant well. Please do not allow this to halt you from being open and honest on this forum, haha perhaps it was just a sensative subject for some, you are always welcome to be open and curious, especially with me

Much love and light to you

A storm is good every now and again Aries.

I hope you aren't put off either by the reactions on here. This is why I never respond to debates such as this. It's an emotional topic for some people and believe me i've seen a lot of replies that were more agressive. I find it's a no win situation every time. A bit like religion and politics, especially if someone has had a drink.

I'm hoping the people on here are made of stronger stuff than to feel offended by your question. You are not the first to ask it nor will you be the last.
We are a friendly bunch on here, don't let one topic spoil your participation and enjoyment of what is a lovely site with lots of wonderful members who are willing to share experiences and give encouragement.

Aries,

I apologise if my post seemed ‘aggressive’. My intention was to point out the obvious, that people were entitled to charge others who wanted to make use of their talents - be it Writer, Artist or Psychic. I see no difference. But just like there are some crumby writers out there and some crumby artists, there are also some crumby psychics. They are all entitled to charge for their services but not to take advantage of vulnerable people. This is where it gets rather murky and gets others a bad name.

Personally, I wouldn’t charge for helping people but I wouldn’t advertise that fact as I believe it would bring forth all types of people including the curious and those who lack pure intent. I share my intuitive gifts with family and friends in the guise of advice and guidance. I can do this without prejudice because I’m the oldest and I am rewarded with their love and respect.

Hi Friends,

No offence taken on my side. Being new the last thing that I would want is to stir up controversy. Thank you for the kind comments and honest debate. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Thanks,
Aries
