Yep, thats what happened in my case too, until he let me heal him one day with an open mind, and that really helped him

If its meant to be then he will!

Well most of you know my stories lol but my mom was a "witch" of sorts and played with pendulums, tarot cards, Zehner cards, etc. It was well accepted in my family but didn't usually leave the door.

My friends thought I was nuts.. at first... .lol then when what I predicted was accurate. They come to me for EVERYTHING now lol.

Some of my relatives don't know about me still and that's ok. My cousin is on Facebook and well, I'm blatently open that I'm a medium on that.

I'm lucky that I came from 4 generations of mystics so that I had an easy time !

Hugs

That is soo cool, I wonder if any one in my family has any abilities, no one has ever mentioned anything, apart from my mum who says she has dreams which come true..

Usually we get it from a parent. So she got it from one of hers. Your astro chart will actually tell you how far back it goes. I had mine done on BTR with a good astrology friend and she said that mine went back about 5 generations.

Too cool. Yes precognition dreams is an ability. Sometimes we can't control what the outcome of our visions are, but just having them can bring more in our way of clairvoyance later.

If my mother found out I was a witch, she would totally flip out, even with the psychic things. Sometimes, things are better left unsaid, lol. My husband is a wonderful support as well as these community. Not everyone will accept what you believe, that's just human nature, the important thing is that you believe in what you believe.

Sorry I'm chiming in so late.

I'm really starting to understand that my guides will let me know who is open to knowing the truth and who is not. I went against that judgment once and told my best friend, now she thinks I'm schizophrenic and our relationship is fading. When she asks what's going on with me, I feel like there's nothing to say because it all has to do with my current developmental path.

My mom is psychic, but she has some...blockages right now, so she still doesn't know.

My grandmother knows. We talk for hours about everything spiritual, so I knew she'd be open to it. Plus, it her house is like crazy haunted and she saw me communicating as a child ALL THE TIME. So to her, it's like something I've remembered instead of something I've learned.

My husband has known for years, and though he's a little creeped out sometimes, he's very supportive and does his best to understand.

I tell my clients to feel free to tell anyone they feel (many of my clients are friends and past co-workers). It's one thing for someone to hear "She talked to my family! It was amazing!" It's another for me to run around telling people I communicate with the dead.

yeah I understand what your saying Makes a lot of sense.

I have talked to my boyfriend about spirits and guides, but he doesnt believe it, but he doesn't think I am crazy, so that is a good thing I guess. Maybe one day I will have something to share with him that will change his mind

Thank you for sharing your story, and to every one else that has, I have loved reading them!!!!

Thank you for your reply Harmony! I totally agree with you! If no one else believes, who cares, we believe, and that is all that matters!

I don't talk to my boyfriend about it really, when the times right, he may ask, or I will tell, who knows, but it doesn't matter what any one thinks right..

I'd love to agree that it doesn't matter, but unfortunately for me, it really does. I've lost a great friend to my honesty, and that matters. I will not judge her for not believing, but it has affected our communication, which has affected our friendship. I'd love to say, "If you believe me, okay. And if you don't, no big deal." She seriously thinks I'm psycho now and every time we talk she mentions me getting professional help. So in a lot of ways it does matter what others think. I've decided to heavily filter the information I give out when it comes to what I am doing in my personal life now.

if she can't love you and trust you for YOU.... then she wasn't a great friend. I have friends who may disagree with me, or think i am kooky, but they love me and support me.

NOW, that being said, i do filter and i haven't told EVERYONE in my life about my journey. Not because i care if they believe, or think i am crazy, but i don't want to have to deal with the negativity. I am in a very positive place right now, and i would like it to stay that way. Eventually, (hopefully sooner rather than later) i will learn to let things roll off my back more than they do. That is one of my big lessons is not taking anything personally (good or bad).

Hubby is great and very supportive even though it isn't his cup of tea.

:
Her way of loving and supporting me is pushing me to get mental help for the grief I'm supposedly not dealing with and the schizophrenia that it's manifesting as. We've talked about it and to her seeing dead people and acknowledging ghosts is one type of crazy, a harmless crazy that she loved me for, but talking to them, especially calling to them to talk to them, well I guess it crossed some "line" of hers and she just can't accept (for whatever reason) that it's real. It does not deter me in any way from walking my path, it just saddens me that brutal honesty will inevitably lead to me walking away from people who used to walk with me. We still hang out, but as the days go on, she knows me less and less.

In this case, to me, saying that it doesn't matter what other people think is like a cop-out. We ALL care what other people think...everyday. When you wake up and decide to shower and brush your hair and put on clothing, you are making decisions relating to how you intend to present yourself to the world (boss, coworkers, clients, family, friends, etc), to make people think what you want them to think about you. If no one ever cared what other people thought, it just wouldn't work. Again, I don't think anyone should allow another persons opinion to hold them back, but to me it's more of a process of evaluating the opinion, accepting it for what it is, and then making a decision to either validate it or not.

The original question here was what do people close to you think about "spirits, guides, and so on." I would like to point out, there is a huge difference telling your boss that you meditate daily and are a spiritual person to telling your boss that you frequently communicate with the dead. The answers here will vary, I think, depending on what each persons "and so on" amounts to.

I totally agree with you Space! Although I did say it doesn't matter what people think, it does! No matter what you do, believe or think in life, does make you think twice in the public eye about what you say or don't say!

I have not told any one about the things I have learned or experienced over the last few weeks, the only ones that know are all of you! I just don't think I am ready to share with the people in my life, because of what they may say! But no matter what they do say, would never stop me from believing it or continuing with my journey also!

I do understand what you are saying! and in a way it does matter! Even though it is easy to say it doesn't matter what they think or what they say about it.

Default What Do Your Family/Friends/Partners Think
I was just thinking today, well actually something that happened made me want to ask this.

I was talking with my boyfriend today and we got on the topic of spirits, guides, and so on. He told me he doesn't believe in any of it, I kind of knew this before, but we never really talked about it, he knows I believe it, but he just doesn't believe any of it at all!!! He thinks it is all made up etc.

He doesn't judge me for believing in it, but he doesn't because he has never experienced anything to tell him otherwise, was his answer. Although I have never experienced anything really to believe, I just do!

I was trying to explain why I thought it was real and why I believed but it was really diffcult to try and explain, so I didn't really say any more. If he doesn't believe, I don't think he will change his mind no matter what I say. Unless he experiences something of his own.

Sorry for the long message! What I wanted to ask was what do your family/friends/partners think of it? Do they believe or not?

Sorry its so long! lol..

Ooh thats a good thing you get those feelings though right.. It's a shame he hates that you feel that way.. Something you cannot stop..

It doesn't bother me that my bf doesn't really understand what I understand.. Although it would be nice, but in his own time I guess..

Yeah I agree, they have to get their mind around it.. Like I don't think my bf will believe or understand unless it happens right infront of his very own eyes..

I don't have any experiences just yet to share with him or any one else, maybe when I do and tell him, he may understand, I just hope he or family/friends think I am crazy.. lol..

I have friends that believe and I have friends that don't. Same with family. My mom it took he awhile to warm up to the idea but she does believe but then there is my Grandma who told me I should use my time more wisely and read the bible. Most of my friends didn't believe me until I have them a reading. Then there is one friend that just knew and said "it all makes sense now!" As far as my partner. He knows, and he knows what I do is real but is scared to accept it. He was introduced to it all in a rather painful way. He lost his 4 year old son when a driver hit him. His son came to me and it took me a long while to confront my boyfriend about it. I mentioned things to him that I had no way of knowing. So yes he knows, he says he doesn't believe but deep in his heart it is him preventing himself from being hurt again.
