Default Question about your time on the "net"
What is the typical amount of time you spend on the net (excluding work)? Does it supercede your other leisure activities?

probably way too much time but it is something I enjoy so I am ok with that. I have learned so much because all the infomation I ever wanted to know about anything is at my fingertips.

A lot...!! I only got my own laptop in January (was using my sister's since Nov last year) and before that, used the local library... so i am addicted at the moment, learning new things and the freedom of being able to go on line when I want to it... it's magic and i love it...

I don't plan to spend all my days on it... sure , i'll get weaned off it by other things in my life soon, but right now, i think it's brilliant!

love

It's hard to say because I'm normally working on two things at once...but I'd say an hour a day is not working on my work...just spent researching, or being here

I probably spend too much time online. I also just got my laptop in January, after YEARS of using the school computers, borrowed computers, or doing it the old school way *gasp* without a computer. Like Chris, I'm normally "working" and goofing off at the same time. It probably does supercede my other leisure activities since I don't have much time for leisure anyways (And it's SO easy to surf the net while in a very boring class...)

Hmmm, beisdes working on papers and schoolwork and whatnot, my time on the net has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased lol, it used to be at least 5-6 hours a day, now it's like 3 if I'm lucky. xD but yeah, I usually go on the net everyday unless I'm like, totally sick, or something random happens like vacations...or just something xD lol, I love leisure time on here!! ^-^' =D

I actually took a 12 step program it feels..No I didn't but my non productive time on the net has decreased so much you won't believe it...But that's cuz I have a big project I am working on and putting 85% of my capacity into it.

As far as how much I spend on entertainment which includes this forum, business forums, chatting with friends, it depends on what I'm upto. If I have a project to work on that I'm really excited about, the only thing that happens is I come here to moderate or make a comment here and there when I take my 10 minute breaks...

That;s pretty much all I do on the internet really....it's surprising how easy my life is...

1. I'm either working on academic stuff
2. I'm either working on work stuff including the research which I love
3. I'm either here gaining lots of knowledge and relaxing
4. I'm either in one of the 3 business forums learning and making friends
5. I'm chatting with someone (now, this one is very rare..I don't even sign on to my instant messenger unless I have an appointment)

I don't know what else you could do on the internet...

Yes, it does mean about 90% of my free time on the computer is spent on this forum

on a different note

My guess is several hours a day (average). I've cut down the last couple weeks as work demanded it. Drats to work... I work out of my home so I really have to stay on me or I'll just and

Thanks for all the feedback. If you remove work and SHOPPING from the picture, my guess is I am on about 2 hours/day between forums, emails, researching stuff, etc.

Believe it or not but I get more jobs done around the place when I have the puter switched on than I do when its off. I post something, then I go and va***m, come back to the puter, check out a few more posts, answer a few and then go and do something else. I reckon though in total I probably spend about 3 hours on, but thats from about 6 i the morning to about 11 at night.
I daren't switch on msn messenger else I would be there all day cos with friends all over the world there is alwys someone to talk to no matter what time of day.
