Default Video Games and TV: Cause of all Violence?
Video Games and TV are often blamed for violence and I was reading thru the Lighter side of news (weird news) thread in the members General and I guess we cant just take them lightly. People biting off others noses, biting off half of someones face, stabbing over a song and the most recent, almost beating a roomate to death over toilet paper. Like, all these just show the level of violence in our bloods. Where do they come from? And do you agree or disagree when people say video games are a cause behind violence among teenagers and others who grew up in a "video game world"..

I dont know for sure if Video games and TVs are as much to blame as we'd like. I guess its more of our life. Like we're always on a go and lack of sleep, family relations all build up stress and it really depends on ones ability to deal with such stress. And, I for one think we have lost the ability to communicate. (well some of us), if we knew how to communicate our ideas without the use of violence..But thats what i think, would be interesting to hear what others think bout it

research indicates that our violent tendencies are natural and are at a
natural peak between the ages of 2 and 4. Perhaps the levels of
violence (tv, video games, parents fighting etc) we are exposed to at
this stage go some way to determining our own inclination or
lack-thereof towards violence?
In short, I do think these things have an influence, but I also think
that humans are naturally aggressive - how else did we get to the top
of the food chain fontimg src="ForumsricheditsmileysTeasing11.gif" border="0" ?

lol true. we are agressive for sure...And, I get what you mean...violent tendencies are natural and we have learnt to control them too (well most of us)...(i think its evolution but i can shut up)..most of us are real nice people who get angry, yes, but we don't get violent...and i guess a lot of stuff goes into who is violent and who is not....I'd agree its the life too kind of....dunno.....
