i've read [please email for name of person and site if interested], and read a few of david's articles on the website. i think david mentioned something about clearing a room (of other peoples thoughts, negative energy and what not) with visualization of white or purple energy. using [another's techniques], i can usually feel energy flowing through me, feel my body tingle and such. i do a little bit of energy work with every meditation, or when i have a chance to think about it though not as often as i might like.
what seems peculiar to me is that if i do any kind of energy work before sleep.. i end up making it impossible to sleep period. i'll end up mentally wide awake, physically tired, but unable to slip into a state of sleep for several hours afterwards. i end up mentally feeling very energized and happy, but this doesn't seem to be conducive to sleep at all. does any one know what i'm talking about, or a way to curtail this contradiction? usually i find that just before sleep is the best time to do energy work, as your relaxed and not distracted, you can lay there peacefully and do the energy work. however, as mentioned above, it doesn't seem to be the best thing to do in order to get to sleep |

that is quite a difference from my experiences ... i as well do energy work and meditation before i go to sleep and find it lulls me in to deep sleeps with more peaceful dreams ... maybe the types of meditation your engaging in cause alpha brainwaves which make you active and alert apposed to beta which slows the mind and prepares you for sleep ... i know there are many sources out there for meditations that will influence different brain wave activity looking into these may offer solutions … and for a simpler solution i always found using certain visualizations such as ... walking down a deep staircase or sinking back into black while focusing on the though that the deeper you get the more you fall asleep ... always helped when i had trouble sleeping ...
hoping you sleep peacefully, love always, shamanangel |

thanks for the suggestions!
i've read up a lot on the factors that deal with sleep, especially since i'm interested in lucid dreams/dreams in general. i know i should exercise but i don't. i get to sleep pretty easily as long as i don't do the massive energy work, drawing energy up through my body. it actually is quite pleasant. i remember the other night i did this and i ended up with the lyrics of a song playing through my head, a white light that permeated my thoughts. "i believe in love" every few moments or so.. it is actually quite relaxing, but impossible to get to sleep and so it breaks up the sleep cycle enough to mess with you. it also helps with vivid and very active dreams (if your lucky enough to doze off) but usually if i do dream at all during the first four hours, its like trying to sleep when you know you have to get up in half an hour and your terrified of over sleeping.. thats the best i can describe it. you drift in and out of sleep pretty chaotically, which is interesting to some degree, but after a while you just want to be able to pass into a deep restful sleep instead. |

i have trouble doing energy work while laying down. i always meditate before bed and i sit in the most comfortable chair i have in the house. what works for me to cleanse a space, i imagine underwater ocean currents washing through the house. like the swirling currents found around a reef...the motion go back and forth around and down, up and out. i often find my body swaying within this energy as if i am in the middle of it. be the energy.
blessings to all. |
