Default Significance of flying
i've had some dreams recently i was flying... arms stretched out, maybe 30-50ft above the tree line in the area i live. i remember being just a little nervous at first but it never affected the flight, i just reassured myself and things were fine. i also remember being careful not to be seen by people i didn't know while all this was going on. it was like i didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of 'wow, how did you do that?' from passersby. that and i could hear the beatles song "flying" while i was doing all of this (irony, anyone?). i finally landed on my feet right where i started, on the sidestreet right by my house. it was a joyride, something i was doing because it was fun and because i could.

i've tried to include as much as i can think of, hopefully that helps. i read some of david's posts about vehicles (getting in a car, bus, etc) and that flying like this was a good sign, but now that i've had this experience i'd like to find a little bit more about it. thanks in advance to everyone.

if it was a dream, you could consult one of the many dream dictionaries to see what flying means, but it would be far better if you could kind of distill, what exactly flying means to you. another very useful tactic is to pay special attention to the feeling you had when it was happening. i believe this is one of the most helpful methods.

because dreams are so highly symbolic, sometimes the dream action you remember has nothing to do with what actually happened, but the reason you remember it like that, is it brings about the same feelings and emotions that relate to the experience you had. at least i've experienced that occasionally; i assume this may happen to others.

then again a lot of flying dreams are simply some semi-conscious memories of astral projections or out-of-body experiences.

you seem fortunate to have those dreams, thanks for sharing.

the dream dictionary i have [please email soup for the title and author] offers the following:

"bird's-eye characterizes broad scope understanding; a comprehensive overview or perspective."
