Hello, E1B.

Don't worry. Let things develop and try to be mindful of what is going at all times. Don't set a goal.

One thing I noticed about people, including myself, is that we're always hunting for experiences that we think would be vital to us. We want OBEs. Lucid dreams. Astral projections. RTZ exits. We always hunt for the next thing that we think will make "it" happen.

This doesn't combine well with the fact that we don't know what "it" is. At all. Trying to figure out the answer without having the knowledge is part of the problem. It certainly was mine.

I think this process can be reversed. Instead of trying to force clarity by taking control, give up control and let yourself be taken and shown whatever you need. If something happens, record it. Then try to make sense of it. But let the experiences come to you and trust that you will be provided for instead of having to figure out the next step.

Don't underestimate that endeavour. It's quite hard to do, at least it is for me. We love control. We love to figure things out. But the greatest ideas and experiences unfold on their own, I think. They cannot be made. They cannot be controlled. One can only be prepared to be open.

I have never understood what happened to me, and I always tried to make things happen. That was struggle. And I think struggle is a sign that something is not working. Giving in to that realisation - not so easy. But the struggle and the will clearly did not work.

Cheers,
Oliver

One thing that bothers me is I have never passed through a wall, that possibility has never occurred to me. Is that to say I've never been lucid? I think this is why the RTZ exit appeals to me.
Lucidity is an odd thing. You know you're lucid because you physically feel properly aware within the dream. There are degrees, just as there are in waking life. Don't you ever think after an event or conversation how you could have said or done something more optimal? I'm not sure how it works and if lucidity is always entirely under our control. I'm now dreading the philosophical discussion which might ensue.

For a brief moment I experienced both the presence of my sleeping body and sitting on the couch smoking my pipe in another body. Also, I experience false awakenings fairly regularly and I can't help but wonder if it would be possible to translate one of those into a RTZ exit.
This dual awareness is a pretty clear indicator that you had either an etheric (if you weren't too far aware) or astral projection (especially if there were anomalies in the room). You know, Stephen Laberge sees all of it as luicd dreaming. He says if you feel yourself leaving your body, you're dreaming and you're leaving a dream bed, walking through a dream wall and so forth. It's possible he's right, you know.

Some people consider false awakenings projections. To me they're semi-lucid dreams.
