Black Portal on wall. Bad?
 

I frequently have this experience where I will be trying to fall asleep and then open my eyes for whatever reason and I can clearly see a black spot on my wall. It is definitely not light messing with my eyes because the spot looks like what I would describe as a portal. it looks as if someone punched a hole in my wall as the edges are frayed. The black spot use to be very small, but last night was very large (almost 2 ft). The black hole will stay in my vision for about 4-5 seconds after I open my eyes and then disappear. I never payed much attention to it, but since it has gotten considerably larger I am wondering what this means? or is? or if I should know something?

I forgot to mention that this hole seems to follow me because I recently moved and can still see it in this new house that is not mine. Additionally, I have projected and can lucid dream fairly well. Maybe this will help with an answer to my question.

When you look around or focus at the object, does the hole stay in place? As it moves with you, it could also be an artifact in your eyesight - so that should be first ruled out.

Theoretically a portal can be anchored to a person as well as to a location.

I agree with Alienor in that it sounds like an artifact in your vision, since it 'follows you around'.
When you close your eyes again, does it become light instead of dark?
If so, it sounds like a possible eye problem, and you should check it out. There are eye problems that cause this type of artifact.

Thank you all for responding so quickly. When I said it follows me around i meant that it followed me from my old home to this one; not that it follows my vision. I don't believe it is an artifact of the eye. The hole stays in place no matter where I move my vision. The hole never changes color. It stays black and very vivid until 4 or 5 seconds pass. The second I saw it on my wall it looked like a portal to me or atleast what I would imagine a portal would look like. I'm not sure what the implications of seeing a portal are? The part that worried me the most was that it was pitch black. Not sure if that is significant or not. Ok, I had a look - it is not a portal, but something new for me.
It is a wormhole - literally http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../icon_cool.gif I did try to close it and it reopened immediately - a worm-creature did bite it open and came out. It does seem to be anchored to you. I do not know yet what it really does or is.

That sounds like astral sight to me.you will see all sorts of things like then when astral sight kicks in. try seeing it as an indicator for a projection attempt.next time you see the portal ignore it and immediately move into a projection attempt.

Glad this has been give further thought. I intended to defer to the more ‘reasonable’ artifact explanation, but my own personal experience was crying otherwise. I have only to look up and to the left here in my study to see the ‘portals’ from years ago I made and pasted to the walls and ceiling. Only about 2 1/2 remain today, the others having fallen over the years.

Why did I go to a great deal of trouble to ‘decorate’ the corner of my room so? Because I had a glimpse into a natural portal once and was hoping to duplicate the experience. Sadly, they never served their intended purpose and remained there as long as they have as a reminder to anybody who might see them, they’re in the house of raging maniac lol.

I haven’t thought of my experience as a ‘wormhole’ as such, but having ‘fallen into one’ and entered a world of brilliant light I imagined what I had seen was something of gateway into the astral.

Very interesting. I can't wait to see what archeat2k will do with this- I too had some sort of portal in my room as a child, and went through it many times.
I would advise to go through it, although not if it makes you uneasy.
However, I would find a way to bless it.

@ Alienor - I don't understand what you mean by 'you had a look'. Could you please clarify for me? You saw the portal I was viewing? A worm creature bit the hole?

@Heliac - I was wondering if to have astral sight I would need to be in an astral projection. This happens to me when I am awake, trying to fall asleep.

@CFTraveler - I don't know what to do with this yet. Hah. I can't control when I see it. It just occurs on its own. The only thing I would say is different about me is that, lately I have woken up (in a dream I suppose) finding myself going down a huge slide and then become aware and fall off the slide into flight. It's extremely vivid. Not sure if this is astral projection or a lucid dream because I don't go through the exit process. I am just outside in the world, flying. Any thoughts?

Yes, I went to your place via astral travelling and had a look to see what might be there. When I tried to close the black spot on your wall, a worm creature did bite it open. I would have to do some more research to find out what that really is, as I saw such for the first time.

I'm guessing you would need to at least be partially alseep or in a deep altered state. You might have nodded off at some point while falling asleep and not realized it. I know the level of trance that you need to be in to attain astral sight can come on very quickly and not with much notice, I've timed myself at around 10 minutes from the moment I've laid down to go to sleep.

Sometimes what seems to happen is all of the other signs that can let you know you are in the process of projecting(dropping sensations, vibrations etc) go unnoticed until astral sight kicks in. You may look around with astral sight and everything looks normal except for something like a portal on the wall or whatever else is just not supposed to be there. You can do other reality checks next time you see it too.Try looking at your hands and see what happens.

Also about the worm in your wormhole. Check it out for yourself you might not see a worm or anything like that.

A friend of mine had a portal on the ceiling, he sometimes could go through and end up with higher beings. Sometimes he could not move through at all. I'd say it was a means to represent the shift to a higher plane.

Robert offers for example the "virtual reality" projection method. Going through a picture on your bedroom wall will often transport you into an astral reality. Your portal could serve a similar purpose - a connection from the RTZ/etheric buffer to the astral plane. An invitation to use your astral body not to explore the RTZ but the higher astral plane. In a sense the astral plane is much more interesting than hanging around in your bedroom, but it can be a "down the rabbit hole" experience sometimes - in your case "down the wormhole." http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../icon_wink.gif

What Alienor saw was probably symbolic - it is indeed a "wormhole" in that it takes you to a totally different place. There's also a consciousness sustaining it - here represented as the worm. A worm could be representing a natural force, an elemental consciousness sustaining this phenomenon. That consciousness would also reestablish the portal if manipulated, as its purpose is probably to sustain the portal/connection (the worm reopening the hole by biting it open). On the etheric/astral levels these things cannot be taken literal at all.

I agree. This sort of hole is an invitation which is waiting to receive the astral projector. It is not rare. When a magician is projecting routinely they may find that as they lie down to rest they can see through their close eyelids and the body becomes heavy and a portal will appear on the ceiling or wall which might move with their gaze but stay near their body. I believe it is made by either an aspect of the soul, a guide/angel/teacher or merely by a reciprocal energy when the eneryg body is ripened to a stage much like kundalini comes when the fruit is ready to be harvested. The portal is at the correct vibration to be a natural response to the projector's curriculum. Going through it should take you to an astral realm or a higher plane. If the hole is on the ground or floor and it burns your nerves or causes your heart to race with anxiety , then that is another thing altogether. But the wall and ceiling portals are a form of what could be called a wormhole or vortext which enables the magician to leap into another dimension. Those TV show Sliders and Quantum Leap had such vortices . These are based on the very real metaphysical ones that the magician jumps into during projection from the physical body.
