Oh cool, thanks!

The link to the article, 'Neurobiology of an hallucination' is:
http://scienceblogs.com/neurophiloso...lucination.php

I should note that the article is strictly 'science' with no room for the spiritual - that being said, it is very 'scientific' in its terminology and language and attempts to explain a mode for which hallucinations may manifest via changes in activity between various brain structures and so does not directly serve this topic's question. It does, however, mention Jan Evangelista Purkinje's simple experiment, which i mentioned above (the kaleidoscope thing). I will re-quote his account:

I stand in bright sunlight with closed eyes and face the sun. Then I move my outstretched, somewhat separated fingers up and down in front of my eyes, so that they are alternately illuminated and shaded. In addition to the uniform yellow-red that one expects with closed eyes, there appear beautiful regular figures that are initially difficult to define but slowly become clearer. When we continue to move the fingers, the figure becomes more compelx and fills the whole visual field. Purkinje was a very proliferative scientist and one you can add to your list of aspirants. Especially for those who are patiently observant by nature (which i dare say, should be everyone here ).

CFTraveler, maybe i've explained it incorrectly, there is just one figure 'X'; imagine a diagonal crosshair covering your field of view.

Thanks for the links, I always enjoy scientific literature, regardless of bias-
Anyway, I did get what you meant, that just hasn't been one of the things I see when in trance. I have seen the 'computer grid' when projected, but not 'x's in front of the eyes.

Hi CFT,

Please explain 'computer grid' for me. sounds interesting...sounds like what i have seen, and tried to explain. it is amazing how folks see 'it' so dissimularly, yet 'it' is the same 'localization' field within.
I tried to find graphics that are similar (for it's very difficult to describe) but here are some examples:

or this

or even like this:

Not sure if anyone else sees this but when I close my eyes when I'm relaxed (not after staring at my tv screen, then I see shows... yes.) I see blue lights? They sorta float away and get smaller and dissapear. You know? Rings of blue just floating away? hard to explain!

Yes, Korpo described it in one of his posts, rings of blue moving away or toward you. He even made an animation that I managed to destroy while I was trying to label it.

I had a clairvoyance/astral sight episode today.
I was pumping myself with energy. At one point I started to see through closed eyelids. I saw my room and a visitor of sorts. A way to actually describe it would be a "cloud" of sparkling white light with a bit of bluish and pinkish/purplish colour, 1m wide and 0.5m high. It wasn't uniform in colour, one bits were white with a blue tone, others white with a pink tone. It was in a state of flux meaning the location of the coloured parts changed constantly.
It was observing me, I could tell it was sentient. After about 15 seconds it just went away through a wall. I didn't sense any malicious intent, it was just observing me.
Any thoughts?

I see these dudes ocassionally, for short periods of time. (Sparkly). I call them 'light beings' and they happen in the beginning of trance. I feel very good and secure with them. I'm sure they are protective.
