Years ago was in serious condition in a local hospital and experienced what may have been a near death experience but I'm not quite sure. At the time my liver was dangerously close to failing. I was watching t.v. before going to sleep and decided to mute the channel and just watch the images while I drifted off. I found that the flashing movement of the black and white images
was calming and I entered into a light trance. For some reason my eyes started darting around like I was in REM sleep and before I knew it I was out cold. I awoke later in the night and was startled to realize that I was hovering about a foot above my body. A moment after realizing this I found myself back in my body. In the morning I was told that during the night my liver came a hair's breadth away from failing. The thing that differs in my case from many that I've heard is that there was no tunnel of light or interaction with spirit guides and such. |

NDE? Maybe or maybe not. It's possible that the strobing from the tv may have caused hemispheric synchronization of your brain, a condition that'a ideal for an OBE. But then again, if your health was that precarious, maybe. I was using hemisync back then but didn't have too much luck aside from the vibrations. The basics of it was familiar to me(relaxing while focusing on a repetetive stimulus for the brain) so maybe I naturally used the light from the t.v. without knowing it. I was surprised mostly by one thing, I was completely conscious but could hardly tell that I was o.b.e. aside from the obvious fact that I was floating above my bed. No change in most of my perceptual sense. I always assumed that being o.b.e. the world would look different, apparition like or something.
