I have noticed that I have an extra finger on both hands when projecting. Not to mention the fact that they are waay longer.

Anyone have any thoughts?

... Well... I don't know much. But I do know from the "Melting Hands" section of Robert Bruce's awesome book "Astral Dynamics" that our energy body is what we make of it in projection. The astral realm is very suseptable (Sp?) to our subconcious thoughts. So subconciously, if you imagine yourself with six fingers on each hand, one of which is way long and awkward, then you will... Until your concentration breaks.... So. If you imagine you have five fingers on each hand, you should.

I'd suggest just ignoring it and going about your discovery of the astral realm. I know that once I reach constant OOB states, I'll be doing far more that looking at my hands. Besides to quote the book once again "You can only notice your astral body if you look for it" ... Don't look for it! Haha. Problem solved!

one: people are born with extra fingers & toes - six on each is not all that unusual.

two: somehow, somewhen, someone made the basic measurements of the world based around 6 & 12, not 5 & 10. we know from metric that 10 makes a lot more sense. Yet somehow, we got stuck with 12 inches in a foot etc., 360º in a circle, 60 minutes, 60 seconds etc. furlongs, fathoms, 12 star signs - the list goes on & on.

Does anyone else wonder if those who invented our measurements may have had 6 fingers & toes?

Our 10 fingers and toes are precisely why we all use a base 10 number system, so I doubt humans originally had 12. A number system could just as easily be based around any different number, like hexadecimal (base 16), octal (base 8 ), and binary (base 2) in computers. But humans chose decimal (base 10), most likely because of our fingers.

I think 12 gets used frequently in "standard" measurement because it is evenly divisible by four different numbers (not counting 1 of course), whereas 10 is only evenly divisible by one number. You can take 1/2 foot, 1/3 foot, 1/4 foot, and 1/6 foot and be using whole numbers of inches (6, 4, 3, and 2 inches, respectively). But if you want 1/3 of a meter... that's 33.33333 (endless repetition) centimeters, or 333.33333 millimeters. 1/6 of a meter? That would be 16.66666cm, or 166.66666mm.

60 and 360, being multiples of 12, are thus conveniently also multiples of 2, 3, 4, and 6 just like 12. So it is very easy to talk about 1/2 an hour (30 minutes), 1/3 of an hour (20 minutes), 1/4 of an hour (15 min.), 1/5 of an hour (12 min.), 1/6 of an hour (10 min), and 1/12 of an hour (5 min.). With an "hour" based on 10 or 100 minutes, fractions of an hour outside of 1/2 (and 1/4 for 100) would quickly result in having to use decimal points, which tends to be more confusing and difficult for people trying to do mental calculations.

I'm not arguing against the metric system, only pointing out that for civilizations without calculators and computers, measurements based on numbers like 12 were much easier to deal with than measurements based on 10.

Serious . Yes I have noticed them on myself and peers and sitters .

This hidden pinky manifested before the thumbs , This drawing is from Jan 2006 when my peers first manifested it and I began to see it on a group of sitters .

Thanks that is kind of you . I think we all spend more time recalling then learning metaphysically and we do this in meditation . There is so much to recall or learn the paths are infinite and eternal . And then to make the new from the old is harder still . To extend metaphysical concepts to new methods .

I was posting some meditations from 2006 trying to catch up the archives online and found that one of the functions of the 6th fingers is anti-element . These can be used to defend and to diffuse .

I think it is sad how much we learn but forget . And what is really hard is application , integration and metacognition . Metasynthesis of learning to apply what we have learned is the ultimate in magick I feel . Robert Bruce does this well . He recalls what he learns and intuitively understands applications . I do this to a lesser respect . One of my children calls this the infernal oubliet from the film Labrynth forgetting what we remember and remembering that we have forgotten .

I seem to have the extra pinkies. I can move them just like any other energy body part. I can't see any extra thumbs or toes, though. The thumbs come before the changes to the feet?

The energy body phalanges open right foot , right hand , left hand , left foot and then the next stage begins the same way at least in the readings done so far . The hidden thumbs were the last stage of the hermetic hands to show up . The hidden big toes haven't shown up yet . I suppose they will be next .
Although the energy body has gone thru numerous coloured stages ie
indigo
silver
golden
purple
sapphire
green
topaz
red
black
white
crystal
purple II
etc
