Default Flying in dreams, possible SOBE or just a dream?
Need your opinion on this.

I think I was about six years old, perhaps even four years old when I had this crystal clear and very vivid dream. I dreamed I was sitting in the sandbox in a park near my home. It was all empty, the park, the area, the world, I was all alone and everything felt "strange". All of a sudden, a huge owl appears from the sky, without any warning or sound it hoovers down to me, grabs me and lifts me up, up, up. I can clearly see the park below me and the roofs of the buildings and it's all very realistic, even though I still haven't seen the scenery from that angle in my waking life.

When we're high "enough" the Owl releases me and I'm flying on my own, enjoying the view, and when I fly over the roof of my house, I suddenly lose the ability to fly and start sinking, dropping down through the roof and the floors, feeling myself passing gently through the hard textures, and finally I fall through the ceiling of my room where I see myself asleep in my big waterbed and I fall into my body, wake up (in real life) and since the water bed is shaking (I must have jerked when I landed) I was sure I had been flying for real and landed in my bed - thus the movements of the water inside the water bed.

It was so vivid, so clear, I went about telling everyone I flied the other night.

(Not sure if this should go into the dream forum)

Hello

It sounds to me like a child hood OBE is what you had

As children we obe more often spontaniosly and find it to be a normal thing.
The owl was likely a higher been or something helping you ect.. in flying, i do not believe you really flew in RL, maybe you levitated?
Sounds like a great experience, it seemed nice the way my mind imagined it as i read the words of your experience.

And the fact that you remember it still quite clearly it seems even now shows it had significance and was most likely an OBE experience.

Thanks i enjoyed reading your experience.

And I enjoyed reading your reply! I've had many OBE like dreams in my lifetime, and the cool thing is when I discussed stuff like flying in dreams with my friend (alhaalim here) he agreed and we were pretty shocked that our experiences were so alike!

This is how I "fly" in my dreams.

A) Anti-Gravity Jumping
Ever played counter-strike? Ever tried turning down sv_gravity to around 100 and then jump all around the course, flyng high and levitating for a moment and then moving down to the ground much like a leaf? It's just like that, I take huge and long jumps and enjoy flying down to the ground

B) Running and body surfing
(This is the kind that me and alhaalim talked about) Somewhere in the dream I realize I can fly, then I think my conscious is kicking in and I realize "I have to remember how to do this, so I can fly in my waking life", and I memorize how I do it, I make a run for it, jump and instead of landing flat on the ground, I land in the air, just a few decimeters above the ground, sometimes I can even feel the ground scraping beneath me, and then I just "surf" around.

C) Light-speed will-flying
This is the coolest form, I simply lean forward and will my way in a direction, I had a dream where I was an old spirit with old spirit friends in a house somewhere in Russia, we enjoyed spending the nights hiding in the brick walls or sitting on the roofs watching the stars, but then humans moved into our house and captured more and more of us, keeping us in cages as if we were zoo animals. I could escape the evil humans by will-flying through the walls and hiding in the pipes, it took some effort and will to fly through the concrete, but it worked and it felt pretty strange, solid and cold.

I'm a newbie to astral dynamics and OBE, but I guess this is pretty much how you move around in the other realms. Am I right?

Hello

Yes that is how you can travel/fly in the astral realms and the real time zone, i myself have a few fun techniques and an expereince i think is worth shareing.

Crouch and jump:

I use this alot when i shoot for the sky " i do this all the time in my Lucid dreams lol"

I find a good take off place, i kneel with my right leg and kick off really fast and powerfully, i shoot up really fast and before i know it i am up with the clouds i love it up there its the most peacefull place in the world lol.

I had an LD not too long ago a month or so ago where i did this and the sky was the blueist blue ect.. "i may have passed through to a higher astral plane" it was so peacefull i felt such a sense of peacefullness and fullfilment and utter happyness, and i looked down and i was high up above the clouds, such a great experience.

Everynow and again you'll have an OBE experience or a Metapysical experience that you wont forget and will treasure for your whole life and each experience is very special to the person experienceing it. This was one of myne, simple yet you have to experience it yourself, it was so undescribably peacefull and calm inside of me up there.

In OBE's i tend to fly without thinking about it, moving is like moving your legs in the wakeing life in the Pysical dimension, its natural and easy, and you move at the speed of thought, so you are in control, your only limit is your conciousness, you! so basically you can possibly reach speeds while flying that are unimaginable. lol, i going a bit off track here, but yeh. your on the right track it sounds with your expereinces i have read ect.. keep up the work, its so worth it! I am learning Concoise projection and am so close, i just get a little bit lazy at times, like this morning i woke up at 3:30 to my alarm to obe, i thought, comeon Joel dont be lazy get up, but i fell asleep, tommoro ill force myself somehow lol.

Thanks

Joel

ps: hope this helps, i tend to go a bit off track into mroe things sometimes lol, its such a vast topic.

No it's nice Joel keep on, I'm the prince of trailing off topic, so it's just fair if I get a taste of it in my own topics

I know instinctively I obe a lot, and most, not to say all, paranormal practices and disciplines are easy for me to learn, I've gotten to the vibrating state all by myself without training, so I have high hopes for my MAP training.

I reflect that advice back to you, keep up the good work!! peace

Hello

haha thanks, and yeh i seem to learn things easily aswell, just before part 2 of MAP i almost exited, and have alot of spontaios and other paranormal things happend to me, i treasure them all.

MAP is great! truely the best book for OBE training, i stoped at week 8, but plan to continue today proboly and start from part 2, I stoped when i was really making progress with always just at the verge of projection, i became busy and didnt have alot of time. But now ill focus and become a skilled coniouse obe practicioner. Its great you too seem to have some natural paranormal side ability, i believe its just the best part of life just about lol.

Thanks

Joel

Ps: If you need any help with the MAP any questions ect.. i'd be glad to help you, although Robert and Brian explain it so clearly ect.. without expecting you know everything its very easy to learn and a great experience!

Just dont kind of skip over the energy work or anything for that matter, i at first didnt find much use for energy work but it truely is a key to conciouse projection, and developing your energy pathways ect.. for a easy, stable, long and durable obe in the future

I really recognize b) and c) and I thought it was just some strange routine for flying my mind made up to be able to fly in dreams but when I spoke to hasalameth about this I was really surprised that he'd experienced these phenomena as well.

and a frequently occuring thing is that I, after a number of "flights", cannot fly again, it's like i don't have the courage to lean forward and lift off. what's up with that?

I had dreams like that too when I was younger. I used to dream of jumping down my stairs and I swore that I had walked down there in my sleep and jumped down. I kind of floated down and then realized, "Hey if I hit the ground it would hurt!" And then my dream ended.

I think it has to do with your mind becoming first lucid and then more and more aware, and as your conscious kicks in "wtf, I can't fly!", you lose the ability / wake up. I hate when that happens, but think of it like this - at least you got to do some flying, isn't that something?

Just thought I'd add a comment.

I have a lot of flying dreams (Often because I dream of being Peter Pan, I don't know why. Maybe because it's the earliest movie I remember saying, "wow that would be so cool).

But I actually Identify with you flying technique a) as I have done it often in my dreams!

I've also had some, and this will probably sound strange, where I can hold my breath and float like a balloon and when I breath out I sink, lol.

I have dived, though these dreams started before I went Scuba Diving. I have always felt very at home in the water since I learned how to swim. It gives me a feeling of freedom in the water and when I went Scuba Diving, there was no sense of worry for me, no nervousness and I took to it right away.

Me too! A very skilled tarot reader told me that in times of stress and mental instability, swimming would heal off the negativity. Also, I believe that humans were partly water-living mammals once, but that's a WHOLE nother discussion...
