I just wanted to share an astral experience I had this morning that hadn't happened to me since a few years ago: the tunnel effect.
The vision of a tunnel during NDE is quite common, everyone has heard about it I guess, but it also happens during some AP. It happened to me 2-3 times when I first started to go OBE, and again tonight but with far more control and details as I am a better projector now than then (fortunately ).

I woke up at night with astral sight. I carefully get out of my body by rolling on the side very slowly in order to stay close to the physical plane. I was successful, standing in my bedroom after a minute or two. I then went straight through the window into the nearby forest. My speed was incredibly fast for a terrestrial movement, the trees were passing by so quickly that I could barely see them. After a few seconds, I stopped. I was in the middle of the forest and stared at the sky. Wow, it was quite a sight in the astral.

I decided to shoot right up to the stars and shift into the astral. But instead of the usual blur, a tunnel appeared in front of me. A dark tunnel, with glowing rings around it (which let me see that I was going pretty fast). I tried to highenth my vibrations and stopped after a few seconds of travelling through the tunnel.

I found myself in an incredibly strange world, like made of gelatine or something, with a lot of colors swirling around and an orange/yellow sky. Very weird and beautiful at the same time. But nothing much was happening here except the colors changing in the gelatine under me (I was high in the sky), moving softly like waves, so I decided to go somewhere else.

As soon as I thought this, I was again projected through the tunnel at a very high speed. I tried to accelerate even more, thinking it would bring me to higher levels. Suddenly a scene appeared. I slowly landed down in the middle of a town, quite modern, even a bit futuristic, with a lot of people walking around. I felt a great peace here, and a sense of purity, unlike most physical cities.

People looked at me with some kind of irritated looks but did not pay much attention. I tried to fly but I couldn't, all was very physical here. A man was passing by so I asked him where I was.

He looked at me, quite irritated too, and said :
"You're in a place ... (he made a small pause, like analyzing something) which only people with a master degree in History can visit." (I have a master degree in History)

I realized that he was being sarcastic of course, telling me by this mean that he could read my thoughts.

"Can you read my mind?", I aksed nevertheless pointing my head.
"It's difficult not to, you're projecting so much mental parasites here that you are disturbing everyone a mile around". I looked around and understood why people were looking at me quite irritated, it was as if I was screaming in the middle of a crowd I guess from there point of view.

"How can I avoid this? I'm quite a newbie..."
"You must close yourself", he replied, now amused by my situation I guess, someone who did not even know how not to project his thoughts around him.

Close myslef? How could I do that? Something came into my mind. I'm not sure wether I figured it out by myself or if the entity sent it to me. I needed to compress my energy into me, like if I wanted to draw back the rays of thoughts I was projecting. It's difficult to explain, but it was not very difficult to do. I immediately felt more grounded, in peace, and like if something had changed, as if I was less exposed.

"That's it, you did it!"

But although it wasn't very difficult to do, old habits tend to come back quickly and something changed again in me.

"Watch out! You're leaking!"

I tried again much harder, so hard that quickly I felt like my head was full of energy and I could feel in my physical body a long way behind me that the temples minor chakras were being activated very strongly. A few seconds later, I thought my head was about to explode with energy.

"Hey!! Don't do it so strongly! Release your energy!"

I did so by relaxing but the projection was becoming unstable, I felt my body drawing me back to him. I thanked the man and bade him adieu, while he waved back at me and went back to his own agenda. I tried to avoid returning back by going into the tunnel again to a higher level, but as soon as it appeared it sucked me back into my body almost immediately.

I think these tunnels might be some kind of vortex to go quickly from a level to another, or the perception we have of buffer zones between astral sub-planes when we pass through them I guess.

It is my goal to make people realize that these kinds of projections are not just in books (Monroe had an almost identical experience where he was also taught how not to "leak" - the entity used exactly the same terms with me) but can happen to anybody even those with not much experience in astral travel.

Great post, Kalonek (and perfect english.) I have had a few tunnel experiences, in projections that had high energy in them.
Now I understand how sometimes I 'land' somewhere and try to be unobtrusive yet I'm always detected- Have to learn to 'close'.
Phew. So much to learn.

I have lost a lot of fluency in your language and make mistakes though ...

I have had a few tunnel experiences, in projections that had high energy in them. It had not happened to me for many years so I was glad it happened again and that I could analyze it with more insight than before, when everything was "new".
Indeed I felt a high energy too in this particular projection.

Now I understand how sometimes I 'land' somewhere and try to be unobtrusive yet I'm always detected- Have to learn to 'close'. Hehe same with me I was always wondering why everyone was looking at me with an odd look although I wasn't doing anything special, I understand now. We must look like weirdoes in the astral I guess, projecting our thoughts all over the place
I clearly noticed a difference when I closed myself, I did not felt "out of place" like many times in astral planes, with this feeling that everything is looking at you like you're a total stranger and everyone notice it - which is right in fact I realize I suddenly felt like I was passing nearly unoticed in the crowd.

Phew. So much to learn. Indeed. Exciting yet frustrating
