Last night in bed, after I had finished reading a chapter in the Astral Dynamics book, I decided to mull over the material that I had just read. I switched the light off and tried to go to sleep. I was awake through to the early hours of the morning and just couldn't seem to doze off. When I did manage to get off to sleep I had this feeling of being in my body, but couldn't move any part of it. Shortly after feeling this sensation I felt something had landed on my back (since I was sleeping on my front) and felt some arms reach around me. The next thing I knew I was being pulled out of my body and dragged across the room over towards the television and down towards the floor. I was scared stiff and I didn't know what had grabbed me although I had a very bad feeling about what it could be. I was aware that I was sleeping and I was trying to wake up as best as I could and felt myself being pulled back to where I was sleeping but it felt like a struggle. When I did wake up I put the bedside light on and spent some time reflecting on the experience. I knew that the next day I just had to post it on here and see what people make of it. I'm naturally curious as to what this entity was that grabbed me and why it was dragging me away and towards the floor.
Note: I have had an experience of falling off to sleep and then moving off to somewhere else in the room before and although scary, I felt that I was doing this myself deep down. I was aware that I was lying on the couch, but at the same time I was hovering over the table at the other side of the room. This was before I had read anything about the Astral. |

See if this helps. I'll post a reply once I've studied the information, hopefully soon. |

I had something similar actually happen to me a few weeks ago.. I managed to Obe through Lucid Dreaming and went about my business to float to Europe see my spouse. Either way as I left my Apartment, I started falling from the third floor to the ground. Gravitational habit I guess, but I was floating not really falling.
All of a sudden something reached and tried to grab me from the 2nd floor. I felt a serious energy attack, and responded accordingly. After a small battle of some sort (3sec) whatever it was had to let go and I went on along my way. Having a clear understanding in your mind of your right and power in being there is so important. No one has the right to take advantage of you and it is up to you to understand and believe it. Also remember that in these settings your mind has all the power. If you cannot break free, fly out, if you cannot fly out fight back. If you can’t use your hands imagine the energy coming from your mind, make up weapons whatever it takes. Also remember that this is done in self defense, I am not familiar of the effects that can occur if someone un-warrantly goes out there and attacks, but I don’t think they would be pretty. I still don't know if there is any significance to my event, beyond being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I wondered if someone from that apartment had seen me and had caused neg action. Doesn’t matter really. Forgive and go on.. I was not going to miss my trip to Europe that night, lol |

Also, be aware that what may appear to be another, separate entity could just be your own astral double. |

This I found particularly interesting: "Dweller On The Threshold Sometimes there is a sense that something menacing is in the room standing over you, pressing down on your chest, or pulling you down from below. This is very common with sleep paralysis, standard symptoms include: * Feeling a weight on your chest or body * Feeling of being pulled down into the ground * Feeling of being pulled out of your body against your will" Seems to describe what had happened to me that night although after reading all the material I'm wondering what those arms wrapping around me were all about prior to the pulling sensation. |

You might save yourself a lot of fear and anxiety by taking the time to educate yourself. Your account sounds like a fairly typical first time or beginning OBE. Robert Monroe had mutliple experiences of being pulled out of his body that terrified him. His books have become classics on OBE. Like growing pains I would imagine, although I have had a prior OBE to this one there was no grabbing or pulling just floating upwards. I hope to be more prepared the next time it occurs. I'm still working on the body awareness and chakra exercises at the moment and then its onto raising energy all of which should improve the OBE exiting experience. |
