I think I had my first OBE the other night. It had been a long night and I had been doing cocaine, so that may have been a factor to it. Although I don't think I did enough to make me hallucinate. My boyfriend and his friends have had OBEs and they think that's what this was.
I went to sleep and couldn't get comfortable at first. Suddenly, I feel like I can see through my eyelids at the walls. I thought I was lucid dreaming at first, but I squinched my eyes to see if they were really shut and they were. I could see the posters on the walls as if my eyes were wide open. This was no dream! I couldn't move though and didn't dare open my eyes, for fear of stopping whatever was happening. I'm openminded, but also somewhat skeptical until I experience something personally. It really freaked me out when it happened. I am sure it wasn't lucid dreaming, as I have that occur quite often and this was alot different. As I said, I was laying there and could see through my closed eyelids! I want some feedback on this from experienced people. Anything is helpful. Thanks. |

Hi,
Yes as per CF's notes. Additionally we as a forum do not suport use of drugs as inducers for psycho/spiritual experiences. Caveat emptor etc. Asides from the obvious nature of cocaine and its side effects, the problem with this (in part) that this drug in particular will accentuate any paranoid tendencies the mind has occasion to throw up. So with best endeavours someone with a clean de-toxed body and mind will find it mildly surprising to have an astral sight experience as you describe… as you have found out it can also be shocking. So please do yourself a favour and ditch the Peruvian army marching powder and you will hopefully learn to enjoy your new found awareness. Best and peace, Stephen |

Hmm, that's very interesting. I actually didn't use the cocaine as something to try having an OBE. It just happened that I had used it when that occured. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to have an OBE on my own will? I know several people who are interested in things like this. Thanks again.

I appreciated where you are coming from i.e. that the experience was co-incidental. There are bundles of tutorials on Robert Bruce's main site. See: http://www.astraldynamics.com/tutorials/ Obviously there are other author's material available... but that should give you a good head start. Best, Stephen |

Indeed it looks like astral sight to me. I think what triggered this experience was more the fact that your body was tired (as it had been a long night) rather than the very cocaine. When I go to sleep late at night, I happen to activate my astral sight rather quickly, I think it's because the etheric body expands faster, followed by a dephasing of the astral body, even if one is not fully asleep.
