First, a very brief history. I've been working with NEW and conscious OOBE attempts for maybe 4 weeks now. A couple of weeks ago I experienced heavy vibrations, buzzing, and loud crazy noises, but no [recalled] OOBE and haven't recreated that since.
So this morning I was lying on my right side when I awoke and looked at the ceiling, then rolled my eyes to in front of me. That struck me as odd since my real eyes wouldn't have been able to see the ceiling. Astral sight! I think that left once I realized it but didn't even notice because I was now noticing that I was in a state of waking paralysis - a state I've never observed before. At least not calmly. Since I couldn't move I figured I'd try to "get up". So I was able to successfully roll out of bed. I'll spare you the mundane details, but the OOBE lasted maybe 30 seconds or so (that short on purpose) and I felt very lethargic. Vision was dark (it was still fairly dark in my physical room) and somewhat blurry. I tried to go back to the body and then essentially had a false awaking, which I soon realized, then tried to go back to the body again. I don't specifically remember the re-entry, but somehow I managed. So I have a couple of questions about the validity of this OOBE. 1) there were no exit sensations as I had previously experienced. Is this because I was already in the paralysis state? And 2) It essentially felt like a very sluggish lucid dream except that I started from waking consciousness and experienced what I perceived to be reality. "Real" OOBE or not, I'll take it! I'm kind of addicted to this forum lately - glad I now have something of interest to contribute! I'll post a proper introduction in the New Member forum soon. |

One reason that you didn't experience the 'expected' vibes could be that you woke up after they were in effect and were conscious for the 'astral sight' part of it. I can't speak for anyone else, but I used to have heavy symptoms (loud violent vibrations) and moved to 'slight to none', only knowing I was 'ready' because of the astral sight and floaty feeling, yet the last one I had had vibrations, albeit slight.
So in conclusion, symptoms vary for the same person- each OBE has different variations, and some people never even get vibes or noises upon exit. As I have said before, I like them because I know where I am in the separation process. |

I definitely agree with CFTraveler, I used to have heavy vibrations and stuff at the beginning of my practice, now at about +300 OBE, I don't feel any vibrations at all anymore. I just feel lighter and lighter, lose physical sensory inputs (in my arms first usually) and roll out of my body when I feel I can, getting my astral sight before or after this, it depends.
Don't look for specific sensations, just go with the flow as these will change from time to time with practice. |
