Dear operasinger,
Our belief systems, fears, disbeliefs have a tremendous impact on what we 'allow' our minds to see. There are numerous reasons why people have great difficulty with auric sight despite a great deal of training: 1) Fear: They may have seen things as a very young child that frightened them, which they have long since forgotten. But all it requires is one heavy duty scare to shut the mind down from seeing with auric sight. Affirmations as one drifts off to sleep often help overcome this particular cause. Affirmations like, "I can see with auric sight perfectly and clearly without fear or prejudice," said over and over again with conviction. They need not be said outloud only in the mind. 2) Childhood programming: Our parents may get worried when we see things that are not there and will convince us this is impossible. They will even tell us that only crazy people see things that are not there etc. They condition us to filter out all the things they do not see. 3) Too much thinking: If we read books on auric sight we may think that we are suppose to see coloured layers around people in this VERY specific way. We build a belief system around what we are suppose to see and how we are suppose to see it. My goodness...there are SO many levels to auric vision it seems almost limitless. Some people seem to see certain levels of the aura better than others. And some people will see certain levels better on one day vs. another - perhaps due to the energies we are most tuned into. If you think you know what you are suppose to see your mind will tightly filter out what you are picking up on the auric level. Try to move past what you believe you should see. Relax and unfocus your eyes and look a 10 cm to the side of people's head and tell yourself you are open to what ever wants to come through (affirmation style) - no conditions of what or how you are suppose to see it. Training is good but training when you have a mindset saying I want to see this specific thing or that specific thing in this specific way can prevent you from seeing the energetic levels of the aura you might see most naturally and easily. Seriously, there are seemingly infinite levels to auric sight. I have seen six different levels (each looking TOTALLY different in structure) and I am just a beginner in the area of auric sight. Very Best Wishes, violetsky |

When auric sight appears do people tend to start seeing spirits, hear voices, etc? This may sound silly but scares the heck out of me as far as I've read |

I have a question pertaining to auras but not seeing them, its about feeling them...
I know people can see these auras around people, but I have a better time at feeling a persons aura. Is there a good description of what certain aura colors 'feel' like? Like blue feels mellow while a gold sparkle feels rejuvenating? This could help with practice in seeing them because I can sense auras, but I haven't been able to successfully say that I can see anything. |

Here is my experience:
For a month or so I practiced looking at aura's around brightly colored pieces of paper against a white background. I think I could see it a little on my first try. Every once in a while I would try to look at the aura of my hand or around my head in the mirror. After a month, one day I gazed at myself in the mirror and could see some yellow around me. These days, depending on how I focus, I can look at myself in the mirror against a white background and see either a greenish or orangish-yellow, or a neony purple color. Around my hands I see a light-blue, cyan usually. Some people say its easier in the dark, others in the light, I think its a little easier for me in the light. I've tried it in the dark a few times and I could see it a little. I think the thing to go for is a lack of distracting colors in the background. I am still naive, and wish I could see ghosts and stuff. Don't be afraid of seeing auras. I can usually see some aura colors if I try hard enough any day, but I don't see ghosts or anything unless I'm falling asleep maybe, and I'm not sure I ever have. The only odd thing I see without trying is a mild prism-effect when I'm wearing glasses. (Look straight through a prism at the world, and objects have these rainbow colors at the edges). I assume that is just because of the glasses distorting light and not anything supernatural though. I started back in January. I don't practice much these days, but my auric sight seems to be slightly better. |

Dear Spite,
Wonderful. Feeling energy is precisely the skill that is most helpful to me when doing distance healing. The various colours seem (from what I saw) to relate most strongly to the chakras. Each chakra contributing to a layer of energy around us. I had one spontaneous auric sight experience where I saw full blown coloured layers with amazing clarity and intensity and detail. It blew me away. There were twenty people in the room that I was presenting to and I looked like an idiot for...oh probably 30 seconds. The first person I saw the layers around was a very negative, controlling person. Each layer was amazingly contracted, dense and only one inch wide. But each layer and colour was there. Then I looked at the person beside him and noticed that some of that persons layers were expanded and had a vapourous quality to them some of the layers were dense but none as dense as the first fellow. It was interesting to see the interface between the layers. It is like a film/envelope containing a vaporous moving energy, then the next starts. But some chakras I guess if they are not active cause the layer associated with that chakra to be dense. (Best guess here.) One fellow in the room had an unbelievable breath taking aura that was five feet in radius. I was in awe. He was East Indian but unfortunately could not ask him if he meditated a lot since it was a room of R&D science people. Anyways, from what I saw the first layer is associated with the root charka and has a redder look to it then orange then yellow etc. on up. Again though, this is likely just one possible level of the human aura I was seeing. I have on the rare occasion also seen auras in a much much fainter way. And will often see mostly one colour around a person. Now what I was told is that each layer of the aura can be seen individually without the other layers being seen. In other words, the layer associated with the root chakra is the smallest in diameter but it interpenetrates the entire body as does the next layer....it is just the next layer is just a bit wider in diameter and so on. Anywho, if you have ever reached inside a persons chakras to work on them you will know the "general sensation" of the energies associated with each of these auric layers and "colours." But...and this is a big but here.....I personally find a lot more information comes through in feel that does through sight. I imagine others would disagree but I think it depends where your strengths lay. I say this because you sense textures, emotions, thought movements, even physical body parts. In some ways it can be information overload when you first start doing distance healing. I would say that what I look for most while feeling peoples auras is the 'texture' feel to a particular layer in their aura. Some layers can feel very stagnant, thick almost like molasses. This is very telling. I will run my hands over the body and inside the body and feel for places that have thick dense energy and work on transforming these. Oh! I should add that if we can see one layer of an aura that may explain why some people say...oh he or she has this amazing blue aura. It could just be that this is just the layer that is most energized and easiest to see or the layer we most easily tune into there are SO many possible explanations. You may notice you start getting mind's eye vision while doing distance healing. I find this very helpful. I see the structures and also get a visual of what I am feeling. This vision for me looks more like a photographic negative or like looking at an x-ray. Anywho, I should stop writing and start doing my distance healing. Sure hope you get into healing in a serious way. Hugs and Best Wishes, violetsky |
