Default Eyelids Spasming Like you are in REM?
Several times during meditation I've tried to allow my body to fall asleep while trying to stay awake mentally.

A few times I've had my eyelids start to spasm totally on their own, spreading to my face. Like an eye twitch, but it was like you see eyelids moving rapidly during REM sleep.

The thing is, is that I'm wide away and my eyes are not moving around, its just the eyelids.

Anyone know what this is?

It happens to me. Pain in the !@# and unfortunately I have great difficulty getting past it. It helps to do extra relaxation exercises for the eyes.

really???

I have been having trouble with trance. I never know if I'm in one or not. Because once you hit that state, thats when you start the rope climbing right?

So maybe I've been there...

The only real time I've seemed to be close to out of body was when I actually heard myself start to snore.

Sometimes I can sit asleep, and see hypnogogic imagry. I can hang on long enough to even affect the "camera" of what I'm dreaming and move it aroound. But I have not been able to enter it.

I tend to have problems staying awake.

Cool others get it then too. It is a symptom of trance. Cool thats good news that I'm achieving trance.. thx

Well, I had the same problem and asked Brian and Robert and Brian told me it may have to do with how tired you are when doing the work. Also told me to do energy work with my eyes open in the dark when that happens, and it helped to control it-sort of 'retraining' my eyes. I did it a few times and the problem went away for good.

I tried again last night and no luck. I try every night and end up falling asleep after about 45 minutes of playing around while at the cusp of sleep.

I am convinced I am in trance. While in trance I can move energy alot more and feel it alot more. I can also feel "pressure" when I try and move my energy body outside of my physical body. But its like I've got a hard shell I can't break out of.

I've climbed so many ropes that I'm convinced it doesn't work for me. I've tried the ladder, and many others.

I can't figure out what is stopping me. I can move energy well. I can get into trance. I can almost get vibrations. I do get the tiny vibes in some areas but nothing major.

I can't get anythign other than the real light "inflating" feeing like you are getting really light and you are fully conscious but your body is asleep. I can reach that point every single time. But no further.

Just another tip that might work, when you are at the stage where you have been trying the rope,I have found real sucess in pretending I am in an elevator and recreating the dropping feeling you would get if you were quickly falling.I start at an imaginary high floor say 40th and then pretend to push the button for the 30th floor, I recreate that falling feeling then stop and recover and then drop quickly down another few floors. Before I know it I am passed the rem phase and begin to get cobweb sensations. Then not long after, the vibrations start. Hope this helps.

Then try using that: When you feel you are in trance, and are getting the baloon thing, on the inhale, try to feel yourself reaching up to the ceiling, how it would feel for it to touch your nose, on the exhale back gently to your bed. Keep doing it, on the inhale feeling yourself get closer and closer to the floating-up feeling. If you get to the point where you can actually see "feel" the ceiling crowding your face, at that point then try an exit technique, as you are already 'loose'.

Thanks. I can get the elevator feeling. In fact I can make myself feel like I'm falling backward at will. I can induce that feeling right now, the feeling of falling like your balance is off, you are upside down or whatnot.

I've tried that method quite often. I notice that the deeper I make myself feel like I'm sinking into the bed the more my ears get ringing or high pitched whines. No rushing like if you are asleep or anything but just ringing.

Yes I've tried the nose to the ceiling method several times too. I'm just not too good at imagining my surroundings. I remember what objects feel like when I touch them and pretend I'm touching the wall or ceiling with my hands sometimes.

Its just so frustrating, I've tried everything, I seem to have had every symptom you can get from the hypnogogics to the slow vibes, to the ears rushing. I JUST CANT EXIT!!!

Its been a year and a half.

Last night I couldnt' sleep and I meditated in bed without moving for 4 hours. Yep 4 hours. I couldn't even get hypnogogics! I can usually get a little of those.

I've had some very slow odd vibrations and rocking feelings which I couldn't take any further, but that is it.

It is very frustrating. I am feeling good circulation of my energy, and I don't really sense any blockages but I never can feel the actual "Chakras" lighting up individually very well at all. Its more of an overall feeling of feeling your entire energy body all at once.

My problem is that as soon as i start getting deep, I have my legs move on their own. Or I start tightening up my muscles like I"m raising my head slightly. THen I realize my actual head is moving so I have to force myself to relax and sink back into the bed.

Thats one of my biggest problems. The more I move my energy the more I'm moving my body physically.
