There is caution to the story. Do not go looking for trouble unless it is already looking for you. Be careful what you wish for. What seems interesting from a safe distance can be very different up close. Also, it is unwise to focus ones thoughts on such dark images prior to attempting projection. Like attracts like is a general rule and we are not talking about something easily shaken off. Good way to land yourself in a heap of trouble actually. It is all fun and games till someone loses an eye. And you could lose a lot more than that if you are unlucky. Was just thinking about this actually. Any advice for encountering trouble when helping others though? (I am capable usually, have fought things and been successful. powerful things. and i dont like to run away or throw my battles upon someone else) thank you ![]() |

I hope no one minds, I'm gonna go back a few posts, because I've been gone a few days.
EDIT: oh yes, and this IS all beginners really want to do. Beginners havent ever projected before, therefore they do not know what there is to do out of body and what to expect. dont let other peoples desires worry you... lol I disagree with this strongly. While VRP sounds very interesting to me (admittedly a beginner to projection, though a bit more experienced with things like energy work and the occult), it is quite a ways down on my "list" of things I want to do in the astral. The astral holds so much pontential for getting to know the universe and yourself, that working with fantasy isn't NEARLY as glamourous as working with this REALITY. You have to remember too that VRP is just a subconscious recreation of the poster. You don't actually walk into that actual place, or even an astral plane resembling this (though I'm sure this is possible). Now when you walk outside the parameters of the poster, that may change. I'm not sure though, simply speculating. |

Is this all the beginners want to do? The astral has become some type of game to the 'new beginners' when I first started out, going into a movie poster or pretending to be DBZ was the farthest from my mind..
I have gained wisdom from the astral and now a 'at will' projector and going into a poster or pretending to be a cartoon character didn't help me at all during my explorations. I am not talking to only you, I want to get this message to all the new projectors who think the astral is just another way to 'play' dress up with the PHYSICAL items that we have already.. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this. But back in my younger days I wanted to become a spiritual being and it seems that goal in the 'new generation of projectors' is dying down. I don't want this to come across as an angry post cause I am not angry at all. I just believe the only reason that some people aren't achieving a concious projection is because their motives in the astral are too childish and I hope you guys can understand that. -The Projector- |

Using VRP to go directly into a mandala or a poster of a Buddha is too much pressure at this point for someone like me. Star Trek is another matter. I've been reading the novels for a long time and I'm familiar with the stories and characters. When I start doing VRP, I'm going to have enough to worry about just learning to use the technique. The added pressure of having to have such a profound spiritual experience right away only makes things worse.

I don't see any reason not to travel to these worlds, and I see no reason to think them less real than the one we know physically. I do think that dwelling on any one thing for too long can stunt one's growth, though. Try new things, learn from them, but it's important to also know when you're avoiding new experiences to stay where you're comfortable.

Dear po0d,
Here is an interesting thought. It is claimed by some projectors that religious prayer and belief has actually built over time a Muslim heaven, a Christian heaven, a Buddhist heaven in the higher planes of existance. Hell I guess is the lower planes of the astral. So the question is, when a story becomes massively popular and millions of people read it, does this create a mass consciousness sufficient to create an energy local in the astral? One thing to note is the Tolkien and CS Lewis were close friends and both are claimed to have studied esoterics. Tolkien was very interested in the battle between good and evil and there is great depth to his trilogy. There is caution to the story. Do not go looking for trouble unless it is already looking for you. Be careful what you wish for. What seems interesting from a safe distance can be very different up close. Also, it is unwise to focus ones thoughts on such dark images prior to attempting projection. Like attracts like is a general rule and we are not talking about something easily shaken off. sure, but if you have read Roberts work you may also believe that the astral is just one dimension in our spiritual trip to higher existance. The astral being the place were we can eliminate all of our desires and see them for the illusions they really are. This isnt all i think about when projecting though, astral beings and higher beings interest me greatly, i just thought of this as an idea. no hard feelings.
EDIT: oh yes, and this IS all beginners really want to do. Beginners havent ever projected before, therefore they do not know what there is to do out of body and what to expect. dont let other peoples desires worry you... lol and what "wisdom" have you gained? that there is a higher level of existance beyond the physical? of course, we all know that. |

It is definitely true that if I go into a Star Trek scene that it is all fiction. That is purely for entertainment and practice. Still, there are other applications such as going into a mandala which have been part of initiations for a long time in Vajrayana Buddhism. My point is that learning to play with the technique at first is a good way to transition into something more serious.

I, as a begginner was not very interested in VRP but more of projection as a spiritual exercise. I do believe, however, that it can help to motivate newer projecters as well as a way to spread the idea of projection to those who are not accustomed to it. This is just an idea and also what my experience was so take it how you will.

[b]Is this all the beginners want to do? I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this. But back in my younger days I wanted to become a spiritual being and it seems that goal in the 'new generation of projectors' is dying down. I am such a beginner, and I already am a spiritual being. That's something everybody is already. Whetter or not we do something with that is another thing. I don't want this to come across as an angry post cause I am not angry at all. I just believe the only reason that some people aren't achieving a concious projection is because their motives in the astral are too childish and I hope you guys can understand that. Maybe you should be giving some advice on what a good goal would be, instead of marking an honest question as childish. Personaly, the first thing I would be doing is project into a rather safe fantasy, to make sure that I'm safe, pleasant and enjoying myself while I get the hang of it. Everybody is different, and chooses to walk their own path. Noone else is ever justified to judge that, unless asked. And even then friendly advice always sticks better. Regards, Jeroen |
