Default I just can't SEE!
So I've had a few minor OBEs, nothing really exciting but in all of them I just cannot for the life of me see.

I don't know how to be able to, without opening my real eyes and waking myself up. I telling myself things to see but nothing seems to work. I don't know if it will just come to me... as to start off with I figured it would but it just seems that I can't do it.

This past weekend was the first time ever that I've gone from conscious to "mind awake - body asleep", I was pretty happy with myself! Every other time its been on a weekend morning and I've woken up, and gone back to sleep with the intention of OBE in my mind, and I've "woken" in the mind awake-body asleep.

This time, I went from waking and felt myself "suck" in within my self, to the point where I was lying in that state. Of course THIS time I couldn't get out of my body - but I did for the first time try out the rope technique. I actually thought to myself "I wonder if my bf will wake up to see me grasping at air!!" but I knew I wasn't moving my real arms.

My arms were free my legs were free but I just couldn't get up. Perhaps I was trying too hard?

Blah. If anyone has some pointers on how to see, even when I'm just lying in bed in the mind awake-body asleep state, that would be awesome

I've been as far as my kitchen which is down the hallway.... I dont' know if there is perhaps some kind of subconscious fear that is stopping me from seeing?

Though I've never felt scared while OBE'ing

Easy, actually.

During the day close your eyes and then pry them open with your fingers, consciously intending to see.

Do this maybe several times a day, always remembering to will yourself to see by doing this, and then, in the astral, pry your eyes open. The movement action should be ingrained in your subconscious firmly enough for you to get the point. Even if it doesn't work quite like that, the astral eyes still ahve a good chance of opening.

It could possibly be an unconscious fear, but if it is, I cannot say what it's source might be. Have you ever tried asking for vision whilst in an OBE state? I've known people who could successfuly restore vision by asking (sometimes shouting) that they wanted to be able to see.

Here are a couple things I've found are good for recovering your sight. Someone already mentioned the first, which is to simply use your dream hands to pry open your dream eyelids:

Another method is to ask yourself "what is here", doing this you can develop a radar sense of your surroundings without actually seeing anything:

Good luck!

How far do you move away from your body during your OBEs? I'm not sure why, but when i'm within around 6-8 feet of my body my visual perception is either missing or very vauge. Once I move further away, I can see perfectly well.
