They don't have those down there?? They are all over here..... Perhaps for many that is the illusion of getting a deal, a no brainer, the dented can has to be cheaper than store X...............
The only one I've happened to see was in SF but I wouldn't be surprised if that chain or one exactly like it were in the LA or inland empire area.

SF has a pretty uniform temp, almost year round..... 55-65 is the norm. Not much higher, & not much cooler... The ocean & bay see to that.... I could deal with 55-65 if it weren't so windy and constantly overcast/foggy.

Many pay a high premium to be in the foggy part of town/east bay.........

I am more of a warm weather person as well........ If it was my call we found't have a fall or winter........ Let those that wanna ski & all that move back to Colorado or SWISSconsin or whereever else they came from

Yeah I have family right in the heart of SF but when I cross over the bay to Walnut Creek suddenly its like 10 degrees warmer which seems to be just enough to put me back in my comfort zone. If I had to move up there I'd definitely live in the East Bay and just BART over to the city when needed.

Hey Binky.................

Yea, I only buy USDA Choice @ the store, where I shop that is all they have..... Safeway & the others is a bit cheaper, but then down cows should cost less..

I have not done many garage sales in a long time but I probably should now & then....... I have done craigslist a few times, bought a kayak about 6 months ago......... I will probably pick up another bike on there soon as well......

I try to avoid by [made in china] but it is almost impossible...

I have a lawn mower I bought (briggs/stratton) made in Mexico maybe 15+ years ago.......... Still starts w/ one or two pulls, never did anything to it but put gas in it........ Best one I ever owned......

Lots of produce is now from Mexico which I find on par w/ the local stuff, although some fruits are not quite as ripe, I guess to travel times........

Living in Calif central valley we can be picky, almost everything is grown around here..........
Hi Cos. We shop a lot at the veggie and meat markets. The food is a better quality. In our area, many of our small businesses have had to close their doors over the last five years as they just can't compete with the prices the corp businesses offer. Walla, you end up with a store filled with Chinese crapola.

I buy sundries at Wal-Mart and produce and the like at Publix--it costs more there, but is much superior in quality.

Yea, & where I live it goes up another 5-10 degrees from Walnut creek.... One good thing we have going is it cools off in the evening, most of the time w/ a nice breeze blowing in from the delta, the bay is pretty cold water....
