So why you going then??? You going just to take others?? My sister is a Big Wheel there, so she'll just come to the gate and badge us all in. I go to Cocoa Beach in the fall, it doesn't get below 90 till the middle of Oct. I wait till daylight savings is just about over, and it's perfect. Only problem is the sharks, Melbourne/Cocoa ( Space Coast) is infested with them, so I just go out in the ocean and body surf, or use a boogie board. The continental shelf is so shallow a drop, you can go out about 30 yards, and just be in enough water to jump the waves, or try to ride one in. The REAL surfers have to go out much farther. |

I like boogy boarding but not to fond of sharks........... Sweet guy like you must be a magnet for them..... But nothing like a Tiger Shark, not that close to the beach, maybe Spinners or something. Might lose a finger, or get a thigh bite, nothing that serious. |

No shark attacks in that part of florida are common, i don't know why, but chances are if you're gonna get a shark bite, this is a good place to get them. Attacks where I go are rare (Santa Cruz) but there have been some reported fairly recently but no deaths........ There are lots of tasty sea lions hanging out on the pier & if you go out & look @ them you can see teeth marks on many of them.......... My wet suit is black & so is the bottom of my board so I do think about sharks when I am out there...... But I try not to.......... ![]() |
