I had a wonderful winter brew that had some kind of spice or fruit..I didn't think I'd like it but it was wonderful.
I went back later to buy out what remained but it was all gone. And I love Hefeweizen ..very citrus..with lemony and lime flavors.

Some bocks are great...the coffee flavored ones are ok but I prefer the creamier bocks they seem harder to find.

I'm not into the ambers...bitter beers.

As for what I won't drink...any of the commercial piss water beers.
There are prob some good micro brews up there.......

I like the Sam Adams cream stout-------

They have a double bock also that only comes out in fall & can be ordered @ your store-it is similar to the creamy stout w/ a bit more body........

Do you have Bev Mo up there?? You can get lots of awesome stouts there-but only bring a few bucks in cash, leave your card @ home, lest you drop a couple hundred (easy) only trying all the exotics........

Most of the ppl that work there know their stuff......

Did you know it's still a Nazi stronghold? But, yes it is a cool town.
I had a couple friends who were stationed there - we would trade off, one weekend we'd usually go to their favorite watering holes in Nuremberg (Green Goose was a popular spot) and then another they'd go to mine in Sachsenhausen (usually Irish pubs) - all to do with keeping up with the ins and outs of where to get the best strange.

I don't know about any Nazi strongholds still being in that region - if there were they didn't go out to the clubs or bars. The modern German citizen has been pacified beyond measure...they'd rather give up the pussy than fight for it - even when they're inebriated.

RateBeers.com has a list of those thought to be the worst, according to their visitors. I notice a few we've already named on there - Minty's selection came in at #2...

I only had one flavored that was fairly good.....

Do they sell Pyramid down there?? They have some of the worst I ever tried.....

Particularly their apricot ale.... Has this powdery crap floating on the bottom..... Tastes like they crushed the pit & all w/ it & tossed in some bark & leaves to boot........ BARF......

Not worth drinking even if it was free..........

Bud Light is number 11 on the list?

Personally, I drink dark beers with meals or when out on the town (mostly Guinness), but I sure do enjoy a Bud Light after mowing the lawn on a 90 degree day.

Just for fun, here is their list of best beers: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/top-50/

I can honestly say I've never had any of the top 50. Guess I'm not much of a beer connoisseur...

Agreed, but not true at Die Canapie.
Not at all.

Ummm...yeah. Never even heard of most of them - no clue where I'd find 'em...I assume they aren't domestic...(or even available locally)

The Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is domestic, it's the only one I've had on that list too. Its like drinking expresso with alcohol in it, and really dry. I can't see drinking it with food, more like an after dinner thing you would do with port or brandy...

I see them as being a total waste of calories...

55-65 calories?? I would rather waste 200 calories on one good beer.....

Or, drink 10 good beers, and work off the calories dancing around with a lampshade on yer head.

I'm younger than Ronald Reagan and dirt is older than him.
And I have never used meth-amphetamine or cocaine in ANY form.
I haven't even smoked marijuana in over 30 years.

Do you really enjoy being wrong so much of the time?

Wrong as in knowing the difference between "more like" and "actually are?"

I could care less if you have or haven't used meth or coke - if I actually gave a shit I would've asked.

Much the same way you parade yourself around this forum posting conjecture that's wrong most of the time, how about it Mac - does it make you all warm and fuzzy on the inside?

BTW, Ronald Reagan has been dead for awhile now - you're now the standard for "Old As Dirt" and you'll be dead sooner rather than later...
