Default Think you can make it?
Do you think you could survive if you had to on your own, with no help.

You’re on a hunting trip and you notice there's a black bear charging you and it's closing fast. You haven't loaded your rifle yet and you don't have pepper spray. What do you do?

A) Turn and run
B) Drop to the ground, roll onto your stomach, place your hands behind your head, play dead and pray.
C) Climb a tree
D) Stand your ground and face the beast. Prepare to fight for your life with anything you can find to defend yourself.

While I can still post without attracting my bosses notice...

All of the above...(water question)

As to the fire question, I actually can admit no knowledge of the correct answer...(but if it were me, I would do one big-ass fire and make it smoky as possible, or try to spell out sos with it)

In an area not affected by katabatic winds, and away from ridge lines subject to lighting strikes. Additionally, it's a good ideal to avoid release zones, and slope angles 30 degrees or greater. Consider islands of safety to avoid being buried in an avalanche during winter travel travesing slopes. Listen to the sound of snow beneath the boots...
Down climbing is more dangerous then the up, travel slow when descending, and avoid scree fields if possible.....

Better have a plan B....there are places where there is no wood for fires. Or places where a signal fire is the wrong choice...

I dont disagree with you Telos, I also thought the questions were a bit to open to interpretation.

But which of the answers would be most likely given the question as its presented.

We were in the Smokies on our bikes about 5 years ago and black bear started running toward us, I immediately started toward it running and screaming with my hands back and forth and that damn thing did not know what to think. It stopped quick, snorted and then ran back in the woods. I had free beer all night long.

There is the unknown factor like if this was a mama black bear and her cubs were around I would make noise, but I wouldn't advance towards the bear.
