The National Enquirer reported today that Todd Palin, husband of former Alaska Gov. and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has been engaged in an illicit affair with a massage therapist-cum-madam.
The tabloid newspaper indicated it has documentary proof that the woman in question, 36-year-old Shailey Tripp, had been arrested for running a house of prostitution in March 2010. Tripp pleaded no-contest to those charges in June. The National Enquirer also claims to have proof that the authorities have physical evidence that may definitively prove liaisons between Tripp and Palin took place. The National Enquirer has a history of leading the news on major political sex scandals, most notably the case of John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter in October 2007. However, the tabloid's record for accuracy is not exactly spotless. Earlier this month The National Enquirer reported that Edwards and Hunter were engaged, a claim that Edwards has denied and Hunter has not commented upon. The National Enquirer has been making such claims since early 2010. Yet in the Palin case, rumors of extramarital affairs have hounded the Palins since 2008, and divorce rumors have been flying since at least late 2009. Neither Todd or Sarah Palin have commented on The National Enquirer's story. [ For complete coverage of politics and policy, go to Yahoo! Politics ] If true, the Palins would not be the first political couple in recent times to become embroiled in a mixture of cheating and prostitution. * Eliot Spitzer, the former governor of New York, was felled by just such a sex scandal when it was revealed he had patronized the glitzy prostitution ring known as Emperors Club VIP, making call girl Ashley Alexandra Dupre a household name. * The infamous "D.C. Madam," Deborah Jeane Palfrey, claimed after her 2007 arrest that many of Washington's movers and shakers were among her clients, and that boast was not an idle one. Randall Tobias was forced to resign from his post as Administrator of the Agency for International Development (USAID) when he was linked to Palfrey. * Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana was also linked to Palfrey's services, but remains in office today. Palfrey committed suicide in 2008 after her conviction on money laundering and racketeering charges. * Nor is this type of scandal merely an American phenomenon. In Italy, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is engaged in fighting off an investigation into whether or not he had a liaison with a dancer who is not only an alleged prostitute, but was 17 at the time and, thus, legal minor as well. |

![]() SARAH PALIN's husband TODD is caught up in a sleazy sex scandal, The ENQUIRER has learned! Political bloggers are digging into incredible claims that the "First Dude" - father of the couple's five children - cheated on his wife with a female massage therapist who was busted for prostitution! The scandal not only has the potential to sabotage Palin's possible 2012 White House bid, but also threatens to destroy her marriage, sources say. While the story heats up on the internet, The ENQUIRER has uncovered official documents confirming the woman's arrest, and learned police have confiscated physical evidence that could tie Todd to an alleged extramarital affair. We have also uncovered documents that show the woman - identified by bloggers as Shailey Tripp - contributed free massages to an anonymous person working for Sarah's campaign for governor of Alaska. While representatives for Todd Palin vehemently deny he cheated on his wife, allegations of his extramarital affair surfaced on Jan. 4 when an anonymous tipster sent out messages to news outlets making the allegation using the e-mail address thepalinmorals@hotmail.com. "My sources reveal that a massage therapist and computer technologist, SHAILEY TRIPP, had an affair with Todd Palin that lead (sic) to her arrest March of 2010," claimed the anonymous e-mail. "According to the tenants in the building of her offices, they saw Todd come and go often and heard noises that sounded like someone was having sex. It was the same tenants who called the police on her." An ENQUIRER investigation has confirmed Tripp, 36, was arrested on March 4, 2010 in Anchorage and charged with maintaining a house of prostitution. Tripp pleaded no contest on June 13, 2010 with sentencing set for June 15, 2011. She agreed to complete 80 hours of volunteer service, not post advertisements on CraigsList and pay a fine of $500. If she meets with these conditions, Tripp can withdraw her plea at the sentencing hearing and the case will be dismissed, records show. UPDATE 4.30 pm est 1/21/11: Since the first hours of this breaking story ignited a firestorm of controversy key mainstream media The New York Daily News, Vanity Fair magazine, Yahoo News, The Huffington Post and Forbes Magazine, among others, have cited The ENQUIRER's bombshell investigation into the Palin cheating scandal. In fact, Forbes suggested that "in the Palin-built political arena of 2011, Todd Palin’s affair might be just the ticket Sarah needs to be the first single mother in the Oval Office." Interestingly enough, The NY Daily News reported that when the Palins were confronted with cheating allegations in both 2008 and 2009, the then-Alaskan Governor was quick to issue a denial. The News reported that neither Todd nor Sarah Palin have yet to comment on The ENQUIRER's report. FOR THE FULL STORY and to see WORLD EXCLUSIVE pictures of the woman at the center of the Palin sex scandal it's ONLY in the new ENQUIRER - on sale now! |

The National Enquirer?? There were rumblings of Sarah cheating after she was selected and before she was vetted...... It will be interesting all the stories that Todd will be able to tell after Sarah kicks him out of the house..... Sounds like another Palin book is in order. Tapping a Palin seemed to have worked out well for Levi. |

Ready for another fireside chat??? I wonder what blunder she will do/say this time???
A Quick Response is Needed to Todd Palin Affair Accusations On Jan. 20, 2011, The National Enquirer reported Todd Palin, husband of Sarah Palin, was involved with masseuse, prostitute and madam Shailey Tripp in early 2010. The Enquirer went on to state that Shailey Tripp had been arrested in March of 2010 in Anchorage on a charge of maintaining a house of prostitution. So far, the Huffington Post has been most accurate in describing the Enquirer release as "thinly-sourced." No names were listed in the article, only references to tenants in the building who allegedly saw Todd enter and leave and heard "noises that sounded like someone having sex." As of 9:30 a.m. EST, Jan. 24, no statement has been issued by the Palin camp. This is not inconsistent with Sarah's modus operandi, as she waited several days before releasing a video statement in response to the Tucson, Ariz., shootings earlier this month. When she did comment, she ended up further muddying the political waters by using the controversial term "blood libel," as MSNBC explained. The fact that Palin has waited the entire span of a weekend to say something in defense of her "Dude," Todd is a bit condemning whether or not the accusations are true as it allows for speculation about the Enquirer story as well as her lack of response. Accusations of infidelity are nothing to toy with and have prevented more than one hopeful for seeking a presidential seat. In the 2008 presidential election, two of the main Republicans speculated to run prior to the primaries, Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich, both carried the mark of adulterer, according to Washington Monthly, and neither rose above it. Gingrich left two wives for women he had affairs with while married and, reportedly, had multiple affairs throughout the 1970s. While Newt Gingrich never actively campaigned for the presidency in 2008, his name is still brought up in discussions focused on presidential hopefuls. However, it is unlikely that Newt could win the highest office as his infidelity appears not only morally wrong but also hypocritical considering his pursuit of Bill Clinton throughout the late 1990s. more @ site |
