I was so hoping they would choose Lamont

He is the worst 3rd base coach I had ever seen and wanted him out of Detroit

WTF

That is a joke

No coach should get less than 3 years

Even for the Red Sox

I would have told em to go screw themselves and enjoy my TV gigs

That is an insult and is no way to get the players to respect the manager given the short term. And that team needs somebody to take charge.

I gotta believe they have somebody else they have in line for the 2013 and they just want Valentine to be a bastard and get the troops under control.

But that is as usual just my opinion

yes, it is silly when you think of it. boston radio was talking all about it too...sad commentary if he is just here to fill in the gaps until the Sox get who they "want"

I can't them bringing back Francona

Maddon is too old

Not familiar with Farrell

Maybe Tony Larussa after a year away from the game??

He would be a perfect fit............. IMO

I think they should give Valentine the benefit of the doubt. shit we've won twice in the past seven years and to win it meant something but the talk radio here crucified and second guessed everything Francona did...its sad...I loved Tito and was very disappointed when he chose to leave...I doubt LaRussa will come back...tear up the two year deal with Valentine and give him a five year deal

Boston fans went through all those consecutive years without a World Series win. And then they had to deal with the pain of seeing the Red Sox fall apart so badly last season that it was historic. It could've only happened to Red Sox fans. So I hope Valentine turns out to be good for Boston because Red Sox fans have delt with enough trauma as of late and throughout most of the team's history already. Enough is enough!

I could really care less who the skipper is as long as they put a team on the field worthy of causing fits in the AL East.
