Favre's return in 2010?
Here's another "will Brett Favre retire or return " story from the quarterback's old friend Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun-Herald, who passes along what Favre said in a visit with the Southern Mississippi baseball team. Jones reports that after Favre addressed the team, an outfielder named Justin Diliberto asked, "Are you playing next season?" Favre responded that if Southern Miss make it back to the College World Series, he would return to the Vikings. "I was a kid again watching y'all play in the College World Series," said Favre. "That was amazing. I don't know -- yet. Let's make a fun bet. If you guys go back to the World Series this year -- I will come back and play. How about that? You go back and I go back” Before he left the team, Favre mentioned the deal again. "Guys remember the bet," said the quarterback. "Y'all go back and I go back. I promise. I promise, I'll be keeping up with you. Good luck."... I could just puke.

I knew it..... http://www.talkabouttennis.com/forum...lies/vomit.gif :: I wonder how the Vikings feel knowing that who will be their starting QB depends on the season record of the Southern Mississippi baseball team? |

If he promised his return for something, he had to want to come back. The ankle surgery proves it beyond doubt for me.

He plays in 2010.....that team hasn't lost many players from last year.....they will still be in the top rung of NFC teams.

You know, I don't care if the guy plays until he's 50. I think that's great. More power to him.
What I don't like is the "will I or won't I" game that he plays during the off season. I think it's a display of arrogance and disrespect for his team. |

Getting them to the conference championship (and overtime, a game they coulda won) usually takes away the arrogance/disrespect sting.

Apparently Mr. Farve Favre showed up at camp today. And it wasn't the kind where you pitch a tent.

It's official unless he changes his mind. Brett Favre eliminated any shred of doubt that may have lingered: he has rejoined the Minnesota Vikings for his 20th season in the NFL.
"As well as I played last year, it wasn't enough," said Favre, who is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, in a press conference in Eden Prairie, Minn. "Believe me, when I left New Orleans [after the Vikings lost in the NFC Championship game], a big part of me was -- I don't want to say done, [but] the toll that it takes...everyone wants to talk about the physical toll ... but the mental toll is what's really hard to deal with." http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ear...ett_favre.html I could puke. Oh. Wait. I just did. |
I am happy he is playing. He is a great asset to the NFL. But, these shenanigans every training camp got old two years ago. I don't know why the press gives him a pass. This kind of behavior lacks class.
