Anyone following the US Open?

Weather is causing serious havoc. Tiger's game is definitely affected, and it's starting to rain again, with him having a large number of holes to play to finish the 2nd round, which most likely is not going to happen (they should be playing the 3rd round today).

Padrig Harrington is having another disaster of a day, he's usually so solid. And Ernie Els won't make the cut.

Ricky Barnes, who I remember from winning the Amateur back years ago is leading at 8 under. The guy has done just about nothing for the last 6 years, and with his first two rounds, he has set a PGA record for the lowest score after 36 holes at the Open. I can't see him holding up a lead, however.

Agree on Barnes not holding the lead for the last 2 rounds. He has been blessed with good weather while Tiger has not.

I think it was an obvious misstatement, but I just heard one of the commentators saying that they're still hoping to get the 3rd round in starting at 5:30 this afternoon. With only 3 hours of possible light left, can they do that?

They're apparently going to try...

Yes , Round 3 pairing and tee times http://www.majorschampionships.com/u.../tee_times.cfm.

Well, they managed to start the third round: Ogilvy, Furyk, Villegas and Woods are among the ones who started, but the ones that made it further are at the 6th hole...
They're starting play tomorrow at 7:30 ET. Ouch!
And even like that, they may not finish the third round tomorrow, given the weather forecast.

What I think is really kind of nice is that the PGA will honor Thursday ticket-holders if they play on Monday.

Yup! I'm following it, but I missed it today because I was ...GOLFING appropriately enough (for a bacehelor party, only my second time ever. I can proudly say I broke 100...I also must admit we only played nine!)

In the last 3-4 years his best finish on tour was a 49th at St. Jude last week.

Good to know that the PGA players finally and miraculously have SOMEWHERE in the world to go where they are considered to be hot (AND that internet site that sells used funny golf shirts and striped polyester pants can finally get some business.) http://www.talkabouttennis.com/forum...s/gorgeous.gif

It's funny. I remember seeing the 2002 Ricky Barnes and thinking that. And the 2009 version leaves me a little cold.

BTW, are the plaid pants giving you 70s flashbacks also?

sisimelanyk 06-21-2009 05:17 PM

and with that, they show 2002 Ricky in the Hawaiian shirt with those defined leg muscles showing, just as I had remembered him, and I think "dang, Ricky".

sisimelanyk 06-21-2009 05:20 PM

And there's an eagle. Dang, Ricky, Dang. You just might do this if you can keep your head grounded for another 31 holes.

I love the plaid. He does have a cocky air about him, which I like. LOL.

I'm hoping it rains and gets him all wet. http://forum.talkabouttennis.com/ima...ilies/wink.png

I'm confused. I thought you were hot for the Latin dude that does his workouts on a giant ball.

Ahhh. Camilo Villegas! It's true.

And Adam Scott, and Ricky Barnes, and Sergio Garcia. And....

NBC is showing "Merlin" instead of the final round at the United States Open.

Tiger is 7 strokes back and he has only 11 holes to go. He needs to go on a hot streak and hope Barnes and Glover come back to him at approx 2 or 3 under.

QualityReachOut 06-22-2009 01:13 AM

I love Luke Donald, big forehead and all http://forum.talkabouttennis.com/ima...lies/smile.png

They stopped for the night actually http://forum.talkabouttennis.com/ima...ies/tongue.png

Tiger's not winning this. I'm not guaranteeing Barnes or Glover will though.

They better let me watch it at work tomorrow!
