Something there just don't sound right.

I decided to watch four episodes of Breaking Bad last night. I was kinda Olympically spent by sundown.
Imagine how the athletes feel.

I love watching pretty much any sport of the olympics so I try and stay away from espn and other sites like that. I will say that the next winter Olympics will be worse cuz they are in Russia but the next Summer Olympics in Rio are only going to be an hour ahead of the east coast.

I do the same thing. During the day I was watching some events live on my PC while watching the Network stuff on TV and was real careful to stay off E$$N or other networks, and affiliated web sites.

I never know what im watching at night, dont know if its live or not. When Vollmer won her 2nd Gold medal and set another WR I was initially under the impression that I was watching the first race in which she did this. Then when the girls gymnastics came on last night I wasnt into it because I already knew Jordyn Wieber fucked up and didnt make the cut and it was a huge upset that she didnt.
Where does the gymnastics federation get their advice on rules, the bcs?

That being said even though I knew what happen I still watched.

I dunno, Ive always felt that if the judges can dole out a score after a fast event like the vault, then to me is BS. They literally land and 20 seconds later, 14.9! Which means absolutely nothing to me. I dont know whats good or bad. How do they seperate it and break it down like they do to where the score is actually 14.995.

I hate olympic scoring..

Not so much the scoring as much as a rule that prevents a person that had the fourth best score not compete in the final of which they allow 24 top scores in...weiber can't compete because the country she is from has other great athletes. Instead we they are allowing someone with six less points compete for the title of best all around gymnast.

It wouldn't be the Olympics if there wasn't something fucked up about the scoring.

Also someone please figure out what the 16 year old Chinese girl is on that helped her out split lochte in the last 50 of the im.

All the "judge scored" events are rigged. The French and Russians were busted for it in figure skating. I don't watch subjective sports.

I understand that we'd all like to see Wieber in the finals but I also think the 2-per-country rule serves a legitimate purpose.

So some dude on Twitter has been bashing NBC over it's coverage of the Olympics. They complain to Twitter, who just happens to be partnering with NBC during the games, and Twitter shuts him down. Twitter claims it was because he violated TOS by posting an NBC execs corporate e-mail address.

Synchronized Diving was the worst yesterday.
The Chinese won the Gold by showing up.

They were great as usual but they did had one HORRIBLE dive... seriously the most out of synch I saw from any of the contenders. I put a freeze frame on the DVR to show one diver was literally half way through the water before the other one even touched the water. They got a 9.0 on the synch portion of the scoring. I yelled at the tv and turned it off. I can't imagine what it must be like for parents of kids in judged sports.

How would you feel if the Big East could only have a maximum of two or three entries into the NCAA Tournament?

I was annoyed that the Italians were robbed of a medal when the Canadian team was totally out-of-synch on their approach and on many of their dives.

Like what? Is the Olympics about finding the best or making sure everyone gets to play? The girl who will compete instead of weiber will have averaged 1.5 points less than her on every event which is a lot. What purpose does that serve?

If those were the rules, then it really wouldn't bother me.

Regardless, this isn't college sports. It's the Olympics. I don't think anybody wants to see the U.S., Russia, and China (or throw in whoever else you feel is appropriate) with 4 individuals each in the finals.

Averaged? Who cares about averages. It's prime time. Show up or go home. Raisman dominated Wieber in almost every category so far in the Olympics -- except uneven bar -- I believe.

And to answer the question -- it's about finding the best and about international competition. The U.S. will have two representatives. Russia has to sit a girl out that finished 12th. Sure, maybe she wouldn't have medaled.

If the U.S. wanted Wieber in the finals, they could have sat Douglas on the floor exercise or Raisman on uneven bars. Or Wieber could have performed better.

Yea, we would much rather watch a shitty gymnast from another country than the defending world champion, greatpoint.

He's not talking about Raisman, he's talking about the 24th person in on the all around. Australia's Ashleigh Brennan, 54.232 compared to Wieber's 60.032.
