Well I guess youre right, as long as that girl from the Sudan who's going to get her ass kicked at least has a shot.. Its the right thing to do to let her in at the chance at inspiring her nation.
The post you quoted had nothing to do with that point. Try to keep up.

In all fairness I could give a shit about gymnastics, I think its one of the bigger waste of times for athletes.. I enjoy more realistic competitions that have a clear cut winner not BS like this thats shrouded in controversy and shady judging.

I have 3 daughters and I wouldnt waste a red cent putting them through gymnastics.. Big fuckin waste of time and money for a sport that pays no dividends except to those who 'make the cut." And even those who do dont make a ton.. Plus the routines are all the same, its the same shit over and over. Nothing new, nothing innovative. Lots of BS posturing on a beam, lotta jump splits, lotta girls who have unnatural looking bodies..

Heh..

Wow, you guys really take gymnastics seriously.

On topic, there's no reason NBC can't show these "big" events live, then replay them in prime-time.

I've laid out why I think the rule is a good rule. I'm glad not to be one of the people overreacting to a rule because it ended up hurting an American athlete this year.

In the end, it won't affect me. But you are all welcome to cry about it. I'll be busy enjoying the rest of the Olympics.
Overreacting/crying? I think she was screwed - but it's gymnastics... I had already forgotten about it from last night.

BTW the mens team got owned today... 5th place, I recommend John Orozco look into a real career now.. Watching that Bronx sob story NBC force fed me last night, makes his sad story even more pathetic...

She was screwed. The rules aren't perfect but they're not so absurd as to warrant the outcry against them.

I've changed my mind and agree with you now.

You could be the 3rd best 200m IM swimmer in the world and you wouldn't even be an Olympian.
Jordyn shouldn't feel sorry for herself... she should be happy that she's an Olympian and can still get a gold medal (or two) for her efforts.

Not sure if you're serious or not about changing your mind.

Anyway, I thought I'd add that Wieber has been scratched from the balance beam for the Team finals. It's a shame. We all know she is better than the way she performed. I hope she can help carry the team in the other events.

I am serious. Plenty of 3rd best in the world don't have an opportunity to compete.
