Day 5

I was watching Germany vs USA in curling at lunch break. The same guy on USA botched two final shots costing the USA three points and giving Germany one. Anybody want to fill me in on what has happened since?

Xxedxevh 02-16-2010 07:28 PM

Right now its 7-4 Germany in end 9

Not looking good

zooworms 02-16-2010 07:29 PM

USA is losing 7-4 in the 9th end.

Canada is up 6-4 on Norway.

Isn't this round robin play?

www.forumsovetov.ru 02-16-2010 07:31 PM

Well its gonna be 7-5 germany after 9 but they'll shoot last so we're screwed

Yeah, today is the first day of curling.

Accor$314 02-16-2010 07:41 PM

I hope to catch some of it during the 5:00 session on USA b/4 I go to volleyball tonight. Tough choice though when I get back as the Westminster Dog Show is on as well.
I saw the Super Combined got moved back another day because of too much snow. They might have make Alpine skiing part of the closing ceremonies at this rate.

bestbyV 02-16-2010 07:50 PM

Well Germany beat USA in curling

Hockey is next...USA vs Swiss...cant wait.

chuecaloversvvp 02-16-2010 07:53 PM

Canada and Norway are tied in curling. That sucks. Canada does shoot last though.

I see Great Britain lost also, aren't they one of the Mens favorites? It is early in pool play guys - relax.

I better get updates while the gms are going on.

SI picked it to be: Great Britain, Canada, Norway. I think this event it pretty wide open, though.

Yeah, Canada has a lot of kick ass teams that could medal at the games, but apparently the skip from GB looks to be the best in the world. Or so I hear.

They were talking about it last night too. Great Britain and Canada have faced off a few times lately and the guy from Great Britain usually wins. So hopefully Kevin Martin can pull the upset for Canada.

Are there "trading cards" for these curlers in Canada?

Yeah, I have a bunch autographed.

No, but we do have our own curling tourney. Scotties Tournament of Hearts or something, they just had it. It takes the best team from each province and puts them against each other.

Maeille Ricker wins gold for Canada in snowboarder cross.

I checked earlier in the day after qualifying and I think she was way off. Pretty surprised by all of this.

That gives Canada 5 medals so far.

JaK_MarkoV_Pi 02-17-2010 03:46 AM

Patrick Chan is up next in figure skating for Canada.

I wish these skaters would get some decent music to skate to.
