I think a lot of that has to do with a lot of people's deep-seated disgust at knowing that yoga is of Hindu/Indian origin... Deep-seated disgust of Hindu/Indian culture is not something I've encountered or was aware of. Can you provide examples of deep-seated disgust? I'm sure there are instances stemming from ignorant xenophobia, but no more so than with any other foreign culture. Mind you I'm a life long urban resident of NE U.S.A.
