people mistake my friends' dog for a pit bull all the time....but we really cant blame them. Even WE dont know what she is!! (other than a Grade-A mutt) We think she's mostly boxer with some lab thrown in and maybe a bit of pitbull, but who knows?

when Tank was smaller everyone would say to me "hey he looks like the dog from the movie 'Next Friday' (Bull terrier)" ...I just say Nope he's a pit.
Now I just have a lot of people ask what he is instead of telling me what they think he is.

Omgosh some of these are outrageous! People are crazy!

Here EVERYTHING is a pit bull - hairy and tiny.

My sister has an English Mastiff, a Dogue de Bordeaux and a 50lb, blind pit bull. Everyone asks her all.the.time with the mastiff and DDB are pit bulls and then they have no clue what the pit bull is.

I usually don't get asked what Aija (APBT), is. Probably because nobody cares to touch her, talk to her, acknowledge her. They usually ask if Cricket (the Boxer) is a pit bull and then will ask if they are sisters or mother/daughter. :s

When people actually recognize my one dog as some type of pitbull type dog they always ask what "kind", so I tell them APBT, then they keep saying "yeah but what kind??". They don't get it when I tell them that's it, just APBT, like they are expecting me to say blue nose or something? I even had a pizza delivery guy one time see her and say "is that a blue tongue?" What the fuck?

My rotti gets called a doberman all the time and one time he was called a bullmastiff. He's fits in to the rottweiler breed standard perfectly. It seems like 99% of people can't identify even the most common breeds.

My worst offenders have been petsmart employees sadly. Take a APBT in there and it's too slender to be a pit bull.

Now I'm getting scared to take Jud anywhere. D: No telling what I'll get with him not only being under weight but a APBT :P

Ive had multiple people ask if Harley is part weimeranier.. because hes the same color as one. A few others have asked if hes part boxer... because hes thin like one. More often I get "is that a red nose pit?" At the McDonalds drive thru the girl handing us our food asked that (Harley was sitting at my feet on the passanger side staring intently at the person in the window who hands out food) I said "not technically" and she gave me a dumb, are you serious look and said "really.." like she thought I had no idea what I was talking about so I simply told her Ive heard his color called Champagne or Lilac before but hes not red. The dumb look left her face lol And like Jazzy, I get asked often if hes a puppy.

People either think Peanut is a male pit bull puppy or have no idea what she is.

We finally got a new one last week. A guy asked me if she was an Australian Dingo.

In the few weeks we've had Barrett, he's been called a lab mix, shar-pei mix, and husky. I'm not sure what he's mixed with exactly so I like all the guesses.

People always just ask if Garp is a pit bull. I get sick of responding along the lines of "well, maybe, but there's no way of knowing for sure, but probably at least somewhat..."

Lately, I've taken to pulling answers out of my ass, just for shits and giggles. Today was "Oh, he's a North American Bullenbeisser."

Ugh, people here are worse I think lol they are so used to the short squatty am bullies so that is what a "pit bull" is to them. If it looks anything like a real APBT it must be a mix or some other breed lol
