Default Question--just for fun
Do you let your dog sleep with you? Why and why not?

Just curious!

No, dh is adamant about no dogs on furniture or on the bed. Our cat rarely stays in at night, but when he does he will sometimes try to sneak in bed, he knows to be real quiet and sneak on my side, but if he wakes dh up, it's off the bed and maybe get booted outside as well. If I was by myself, I would probably let them, I'm pretty much a soft touch. But I do have to say that the furniture and bedding stay cleaner when they don't get on them. Of course Sadie's bed is on the floor right next to my side, so she's always very close to her mama.

Happy to hear there are others who have to flip the sheets to remove dog hair before getting in bed

In our bed there are usually 3 of our dogs. If the husband isn't home then there are 4 but the 4th 'annoys him while he's sleeping'!

There is also another in my daughter's bed. But she sleeps with the 'bone burier' so often times wakes up to little treats hidden all over....under her pillow is a favorite hiding spot!

Marsha and Kitty sleep with me every night. Umah and Mexi sleep in the living area on dog beds or the couch. Conway is usually crated. Sometimes I let him on the bed, but he is an octopus and I don't sleep when he is in the bed, lol.

I like having my dogs there. It is comforting, they make me feel safe and just...better. If I thought I would live through the night I would have them all on the bed (Mexi doesn't like sharing her space, so she just sleeps on the couch, and Umah is way too big).
at octopus
Yep, he keeps me company since my hubby is in the army
that is why i always let Peanut sleep with me since i got him.

Yes. The first night at my house, he screamed until I gave in, then he fell asleep in my armpit. Now he's spoiled and throws a fit if he has to sleep alone.

It IS nice during Minnesota winters though...

Nope, Cesar used to sleep with me and my bf at night at his house but i put a stop to it because i jsut cant sleep with him pushing into me all night, and he is not even allowed on MY bed at home EVER because my eldeerly cats will not allow it if they even smell him on the bed they will pee on it and i dont mind sleeping with the cats they dont hog the bed one takes the very end corner on the left, one sleeps at the very tip top of the bed on the right and the third sleeps right in the middle back to the wall so i have the whole bed

I used to allow them but not anymore.

I do like dogs sleeping in the bed but I've reached the point of being irritated feeling/seeing the fur when I'm in bed. It bugs me now.

I do however still let them sleep on the bed once or twice a week, sometimes I allow them to come up for a snuggle. They have their very own futon, next to the bed so I don't feel as bad when they aren't on the bed.

I feel bad for Sunny since he does love sleeping in the bed. Serenity normally slept anywhere but the bed so I don't think she cares. She likes her own space.

Yes, though they prefer the floor given how furry they are. I always get Lily husky ball snuggles the last few hrs we're sleeping. I invite Scout up to flop on me before we climb out of bed. Sometimes she sleeps on my feet a while when I'm reading before bed. I keep a tapestry or top sheet over the blankets to catch the hair and stuff.

Yep Peanut has always slept with me. He is an extreme snuggler. My husband gets jealous that Peanut prefers to snuggle me so sometimes I will push Peanuts snuggling on to him so he doesn't feel left out

Skyla and Anubis sleep with me but angel prefers to sleep under hubbies desk or in her crate.

My husband is in the army and gets up pretty early so it's nice to have the pups to cuddle up to, it gets lonely sometimes and I enjoy the company. When my husband is home they still hop in bed with us and snuggle up, neither of us minds it at all, we enjoy their company and normally they don't get up until we do.

Sometimes. Harleys a bed hog and neither of us will kick him off in the middle of the night so usually only if we had to leave him for a while or feel bad for him, like after his bee sting otherwise we stick to only in cold weather and thats just because him and I freeze and we help keep each other warm haha and hes only allowed on the top, we dont like dog hair on our sheets (unless its a weekend and I plan to wash sheets the next morning sometimes we will let him under with us) recently I have been throwing all our pillows in a nice pile on the floor and making a little bed for him lol

LOL! I feel that way when I have both dogs in the bed. One on each side, both snuggled at my sides... Baby kicking which ever one is curled up at my tummy... yeah... No heater needed! LOL

No. from time to time our son finds his way into our bed at night I don't want the dog to hurt him while stretching or moving around. But Tank does sleep at the end of our bed in his cage. So he is right there with us all night long.

Nope. None of my pets (that includes my cats) are even allowed in our bedroom. Eric (husband) has allergies and our bedroom is our "clean" room.. plus I'm way too OCD to have dog hair all through our sheets.
